We would like to start off by point out that we were very much looking forward to staying at the Plaza hotel. The book-room bar and the lobby is very impressing + the restaurant is super good.
But we were really startled when we entered our room, although everyone knows that pictures of hotel rooms on the internet can be deceptive. This room was straightforward... nothing like the rooms that you advertise online.
What you did not advertise to offer on your website was:
Dirty bedding, the sheet was covered with hair from the previous guests and under the pillow an earring. Maybe the former guest was trying to point something out by leaving the earring under the pillow? Anyway, it should be fairly difficult to replace the dirty bedding and put new sheets on without the earring falling on the floor. Unless of cores, there is a super genius magician working at the hotel which can challenge the laws of physics. Dirty carpet. At first, we were hoping from the deepest cores of our souls that the carpet was supposed to be blue with brown somewhat irregular spots. That was not the case. Dirty bathroom. Very worn out and could use a good scrubbing. The walls. The wallpaper is falling off, looks really shabby, but fits perfectly with the abandoned house stile blue/brown carpet.
We complained about the room and wanted to get another one, but the hotel was fully booked.
The personal is absolutely amazing! But I don't think we will choose to stay at the Plaza hotel again.
Plaza Hotels answer:
In regard to your stay, we're very sorry to hear that you feel that way. You're free to not choose to stay with us again in the future, but seeing as we're renovating the entire hotel in Q3/Q¤ of 2018, we hope you will consider giving us another try sometime after that.
Best regards, Jais Kühnell Front Desk Copenhagen Plaza Hotel
Dear Mr Jais. Thank you for your prompt answer. I would, however like to point out a few things which I think you might benefit from reading. We are blissfully aware of that we have free will when it comes to choosing a hotel to stay at “and God be praised for that” otherwise we would perhaps have to see the brown / blue carpet again and we really do not want to relieve that. You also say that you are going to be renovating the entire hotel in Q3/Q¤ of 2018. That’s great news! So, you know that the rooms are in bad condition and not according to the very clamorous pictures on your website and that room 102 is not worth the money you are asking for. That’s good. You do not respond at all to our critic on how dirty the room was, not so good.
We sincerely wish you and all the staff at the Plaza all the...
Read moreI stayed with at this hotel on Saturday 25th November in room 305. I find it ludicrous that there is not General Manager on shift on a weekend to resolve issues such as this one.
We requested a double and we were provided 2 singles. The mattresses were too big for the beds so would slide off when being slept on, and we would find ourselves falling inbetween the two beds.
This was the least of our worries.
Once we found out we couldn't change rooms, we were horrified to find the mattress topper on one of the beds looked to have menstruation on the bed. This is disgusting, and clearly shows the room wasn't cleaned. I then found that both seats in the room have liquid marks on them, so they clearly haven't been cleaned either.
At the coffee station the coasters were still dirty, and there was dirty brown marks all over the carpet.
Once we went to bed, my boyfriend couldn't stop itching, and came out in a rash.
The shower didn't seem to work and only pumped out scolding hot water, and the shower is unsafe, as you have no non-slip on the bath to prevent a fall (which I did). Apparently once you realise the bath is a death trap and have fallen, this is when you should ask for a non slip mat!
I asked to change rooms - no spare rooms. I asked for clean laundry - no clean laundry left.
The next morning after NO sleep was offered a 50% discount (after initially being offered 100%) for a room that wasn't cleaned, no clean coffee facilities, and a room that wasn't slept in. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
On top of all this when they did refund me the 50%, they did it to the card I had registered on Expedia, not the one I actually made payment with.
Martin the front desk manager still has never gave me the names of the upper management for my complaint to trading standards. They are very selective over which answers they will give when you email them.
Again I will never recommend this...
Read moreI would definitely recommend this hotel. I went to Denmark with family and we stayed June 14-18 and June 19-21. (We went to the peninsula for a night during the visit). The first part of our stay we were in a preferred room. It was spacious for the two of us. The bathroom was updated and nice. The room was clean. On Saturday nights there are fireworks across the street at Tivoli. We were unaware and it sounded like bombs going off in a tin shed - especially because we had fallen asleep at 8 p.m. due to arriving earlier. |Our second room was an older room on the fourth floor. It was very charming with high ceilings and in the corner of the hotel. The bathroom had not been updated, but was clean and we were perfectly satisfied with it. From that room we could hear the trains and the Midsommer celebrations, but we did not have any trouble sleeping. |We did keep the windows open for both parts of our stay because of the high temperature outside and because there was not AC in the rooms. |We ate at Angelina's for breakfast and at a coffee house across the street. The big breakfast eaters in our travelling group liked the buffet style breakfast. We had dinner at Angelina's during our stay and it was very good. My brother-in-law said it was one of the best cooked steaks he had ever eaten, and we are from the Midwest and know beef.|We also visited the lovely bar a couple of times. What a very charming and lovely room to sit and have a drink with your traveling companions. |Overall I was very happy with our stay(s) at the Copenhagen Plaza. I really feel that for the cost, the hotel was great! We were close to everywhere we wanted to go and when we needed a taxi, we stepped across the road to the Central Train station...
