We (two grown women coming straight from work) chose the bar for a quick drink at 6PM before a work related dinner, based on the location and good overall reviews. Turned out to be one the worst experiences I've had in a very long time. They were rude and obsessed with the seating arrangements, to the point where it became ridicoulous - especially considering it was a quiet evening and only a few tables were taken. First, we were asked how many we were and said two, but that maybe a few more were coming. We were shown to two chairs placed up against a wall side by side, facing the room with only a small side table. This is not what we had in mind, and as there was a free table and seating available next to this, we moved there. The waitress hurridly came and told us not to sit there, as we were only two people, and also not to move any chairs. She then reluctantly gave us a small table for three, but again said that we might have to move if no more people showed up to join us. During the following 45 minutes while we had an (expensive) drink and a snack, the bar manager gave us several bad looks and came up to us twice, interrupted our conversation, asking in an annoyed tone of voice if someone was going to join us, which we didn't know, then took a chair away for no obvious reason, and came back with another one a few minutes later. All this, while most of the other tables were vacant in the bar. Needless to say, we left quickly and will not be...
Read moreMy family and I visited the Library Bar in Copenhagen last night after a lovely dinner and were looking forward to enjoying a drink together. Unfortunately, our experience was soured by the hostility we encountered from the bar's hostess/bar manager, Selma. From the moment we arrived, Selma's tone was unwelcoming and sour, which was quite unexpected given our polite and friendly demeanor.
Despite our efforts to maintain a positive attitude, Selma's behavior remained unwelcoming, and she was openly negative towards us and others waiting in line. As someone who has worked in the service industry and retail for years, I am always surprised when I encounter such unprofessional behavior from someone who deals with customers regularly. It only takes a smile and a even just a slight positive attitude to make a difference in a customer's experience, yet Selma's negativity completely ruined our experience.
Sadly, we had to leave and find another place to host us instead. It's a shame that our family's cheery mood was so turned down by Selma's unnecessary unpleasant demeanor. I hope the management at the Library Bar takes this feedback constructively and ensures that their customers receive the best possible service in the...
Read moreThis evening we came to listen to the jazz ,unfortunately there was a couple next to us arguing
As we wanted to listen to the music , we asked if we could take another table
Selma was hostile and aggressive, when we pointed this out she then came to our table and continued to be rude and hostile , then told us we didn’t like our table we could leave
She gave us no chance to explain why we wanted to change table
Then she canceled our drinks !
On leaving we tried to explain why we wanted to move tables and she continued to be hostile and rude
Maybe she had a bad day , that is not our fault
There is a way to talk to customers and she was not service minded at all So we asked her name and said we are going to make a complaint - her response was “ good luck with that”
Plus accused us of being drunk ! Do drink people want to listen to music
We had come from having a nice meal and wanted to simply enjoy a last drink and music before going home
It’s grotesque to be met with such hostility !
And we had done nothing but wanted to get away from the drunks to listen...
