Staff were really kind, and location is good. The public transport is really close, there’s a market just across the street and almost everywhere we went was in walking distance. BUT we did have to walk minimum of 15 min to get to most of our destinations. Complimentary breakfast was also delicious and the eating space was very pretty.
Unfortunately, the rooms did not match the level of our free breakfast 🙅🏻♀️. Our first room was on the first floor, where the hallways looked very dingey. there was mold on the bathtub and ceiling everywhere in the bathroom. There was a thin layer of dust on everything, and furniture was very old. It had a musty smell and seemed like it had not been renovated in a long time. Even our trashcan wouldn’t open without prying it open with our hands, and the curtains wouldn’t close all the way. You can also hear everything on the streets, really loud. We paid extra for a queen bed, and it was two twins pushed together. That’s fine but the quality of the mattress was really poor. They felt worse than my college dorm beds. Our friend stayed in the same hotel, where she had a room close to the garage. She said it was very loud and had to switch rooms. Our first rooms felt like a bad motel, 1/5.
We called to request a change and got a better room on the fifth floor. The hallways had a fresher coat of paint and the rooms did look more updated. Our “Queen bed” was still two twin beds pushed together, but the mattresses were much better, with a more comfortable mattress topper. We were very relieved that there was no mold in the bathroom. Unfortunately there were still issues like our toilet getting clogged. But all in all I suggest that you call to switch rooms if you end up getting a bad room because the quality difference was vast. Second room was 3/5
Another unfortunate thing was that construction was happening during all four days we were here, starting at 7am. My partner got food poisoning at some point, so we spent the whole day in the hotel listening to drilling and knocking noises for the entire day. I could hear it very clearly in both rooms on the first and fifth floor, so there...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights on the last of a three week vacation in Europe. Location was the only reason we didn’t immediately leave. The hotel does not have a 4-star feel or anything 4-star worthy. The decor is outdated, elevators barely fit 4 people and definitely not the luggage holders they provide to take your things to your room. The staff were helpful with answering questions but when it came to actual issues other then agree with what we were saying there wasn’t much help in how to fix or make our stay better. We paid extra to have a bigger space for our child. However her bed was just at the foot of our bed making us trip over each other as there was no space to move. The wifi worked for maybe a total of 5 mins then Continued to drop or just not work and kick you off. No fridge for food. No laundry bags for dirty clothes. Our “king bed” was two small singles pushed together, which would have been fine if they weren’t roll away beds that continuously moved apart and we actual fell through the middle at one point. The toilet did not flush and the taps leaked all the time. The glass divider for the tub isn’t actually attached so if you try to get out of the tub and hold it do you don’t fall (there was nothing else to hold) it moves making you more likely to fall. We addressed our issue and an upgrade was offered (more money) went to see the room wasn’t worth paying more money for, a little more space but still gives you a 2-3 star feel. Just not worth it. We decided it wasn’t worth it and other then sleep there we didn’t need to spend any extra time or money and just enjoy our last couple of days in Copenhagen as it is beautiful and so much to do to keep you busy. The best was when we checked out we were charges for 2 night upgrade, parking, and breakfast. All of which we didn’t have and getting them to remove the charges took 3 people to. Just boo. I’m being overly nice by even giving a 2 star. This may actually be the worst hotel I’ve...
Read moreTo begin, we booked the Superior Deluxe double bed $504 AUD per night. I wanted to treat my last night in Copenhagen as a send off in a nice luxury room. We booked a water side view. GRANTED I should have done my due diligence in reading up on the reviews for this place.
-The wall cornices have mould all along them! -The shower head had calcium and mould build up! -Our bath and shower corners all had BLACK mould behind the tap and along the corner. DISGUSTANG -Bugs were along the window frames, which just added to the uncleanliness vibe. -Cracks along the roof. -Air Con didn't work and didn't do anything! -Tiny and dated room
-Elevators max capacity 3 people & 300KGS - ? a weird negative I didn't think I'd care that much about however when checking out in the morning we stopped at EVERY LEVEL due to it being busy. Which would be fine but I had to turn away every person going down as we already had 2 people in the elevator with our suitcases. No one could fit!! I felt awful! They really need to invest in bigger and better elevators.
The hotel must've been in its prime in the 1990s and is CLEARLY showing its age.
-On top of everything we also had an awful view. We booked the "water side view" hotel room.. if you can even call it a view. Expecting a waterside view of the lake was A JOKE. An attached photo shows the view and the circle was the "water view" we could see.
Even on the patio outside of the building had bird poo all along it. Don't stop the birds from sitting there, they're beautiful unlike the view and the hotel! However investing in a outside cleaning service on the patio's building would take away the mouldy bird poo that's just sitting there.
Since it was a higher paying room at $500 per night I had a much higher expectation going into this hotel. Obviously the hotel is not being well kept and the owners/investors don't seem to care the hotel is...
