This is a letter a letter I wrote and sent the pictures as requested twice, without any response at all: To whom it may concern
Below are the pictures I took documenting your maid service during our 4 night stay (Tuesday May 16th to Saturday May 20th) in our room (318). The first day there, our room was cleaned. The second day, zero service, which I am informed is the norm if people are staying for longer than a couple of days!?! Frankly, I find this shocking: you penalize those who elect to use your hotel for any length of time??!! So, instead of rewarding the loyalty of a sure customer, you prefer to cater to someone who has not even shown up yet??!! And this apparently because you have to make choices, since you do not have enough staff to clean everywhere??! The second day, the state of your cleaning ability is documented by the pics below. I am sure you will agree it is gross just to look at, never mind being greeted by it in person. What we found most odd and unpleasant was the partial cleaning: like the little bed and the garbage emptied, while the rest was ignored! Consider the plastic bag with toilet paper and towels hanging on the door knob as your elegant piece de resistance! What we found truly outrageous about the situation is that we paid you a total of $1285 for the 4 night we were there and that, after the first discount of being gouged at an initially “fixed" high rate and then, the discount you gave us to compensate for your less than classy service, which was still way more money than advertised on Expedia?! Ironically, we did not even mention our main complaint that I, an old woman, had to sleep on the floor for 4 night, since the original mattress was so sparse and thin it hurt my back, while the additional one you piled on the bed folded me up like a taco. Finally, to add insult to injury, when we inquired upon our arrival, we were told it was ok to check out at 1:00pm on Saturday May 20th. But at 12:15pm that day, while I was on my way to get some water for our trip, the person behind the counter yells after me and informs in no uncertain terms that check out was at 12:00pm. No discussion! Of course, I turned back immediately, we got our bags and left by 12:30pm. Please ask yourselves what would have been the polite and hospitable way to unfold this interaction? In my world, that would have looked like a note informing your staff that we were given permission for a late checkout? Or if that is too much communication requirement for you, how about simply being kind to someone, never mind someone you have clearly wronged, and after a gentle reminder of the time, perhaps have the courtesy to allow the person to complete their task before you basically throw them out!? What was your hurry exactly? Perhaps it was time for your prompt and stellar maid service??! Or maybe it was lunch time and the person wanted to leave? In any case, as you may have gathered from the tone of this note, we were upset and remain upset. As a result, not only will we be staying elsewhere when we return to Copenhagen for another week, but we will make a special effort to post our revues, opinions and pictures of your establishment everywhere we can, in order to prevent others from similar treatment, while away from...
Read moreI had an awful experience at this hotel and would strongly advise against staying here. From the start, my stay was a disaster. The room I was given had a water leak with water dripping from the ceiling on the first night. After being forced to change rooms, they moved me back to the same room the next day, claiming the issue was fixed. Completely unprofessional!
But that wasn’t even the worst part. I had baby bottles that needed cleaning, which has always been a standard service in every hotel I’ve stayed at. On day one, they washed the bottles, but on day two, I was suddenly told they “don’t have the policy” to clean baby bottles in the dishwasher. This was never mentioned upfront, and the room doesn’t have any kitchen facilities. When I pressed for help, I was humiliatingly told to wash the bottles in a tiny sink in the public canteen area by the reception! I was left scrambling to clean them late at night when I needed them immediately.
This hotel completely ruined my vacation. The staff was unhelpful, the service was appalling, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. If you value your time and sanity, do...
Read moreWe stayed at Good Morning City Copenhagen Star during our family vacation in Copenhagen and had a good overall experience. The location is fantastic—right next to Copenhagen Central Station, which made it very easy to get around the city with the kids. It’s also close to Tivoli Gardens and plenty of shops and restaurants, which was super convenient for our family. The service was friendly and helpful. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and were great with answering our questions and giving tips on places to visit. The room was a bit small and basic for a family, but it was clean and quiet, which was important after long days out exploring. It worked fine for a short stay, although a little more space would have been nice. The breakfast was definitely one of the highlights! There was a good variety of options, and everything was fresh and tasty. It was the perfect way to start our mornings before heading out for the day. Overall, it’s a great option for families who want a central location, helpful service, and a solid breakfast to start the day. We’d be happy to...
