Noé Hotel vendu — Hotel in Higüey

BEWARE: you are not allowed alcohol or smoking here at all and it is not listed in any public policies. You'll have a bad time if you do either one. They'll put you out in the street! Also, the location on most booking sites shows the wrong location. It is nowhere near the beach and you have to walk through a very busy part of town, telling everyone that you don't want cocaine on the way. Last, I paid for breakfast and only got it one out of two days, I guess because I was being punished for being a drinker and a smoker. The breakfast was whatever they wanted to bring whenever they wanted to bring it and it comes with ONE cup of coffee. One. I'm a vegetarian and I could only eat the bread and a few slices of cucumber. There is peeling paint on the walls and sharp dangerous corners on the floor that almost sent me to emergency when I hit it with my for at night. The property is not secure at all. I loved my stay at Noe Hotel. The check-in was easy, the host coordinated with me, awaited my arrival, showed me around and gave me restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and cozy. I parked my car right outside the hotel and it was fine for the time I was there. Yes, the hotel is in a quiet (not shady) block, but it's also super close to the restaurants and the beach. I can see the reason for some of the negative reviews here. For me, I traveled solo, so I needed a place that wasn't loud and where I felt safe, and Noe did just that for me. If you have different needs, it's a matter of looking for a place that works for you, but nothing about Noe screams anything less...

The people of Noé is what makes this place so great. They took me in even late in the evening cause my pre-booked room somewhere else got canceled last minute. They're so friendly and helpful... explained directions, took me to the next ATM and to buy a SIM card, even to the bus station. My room had everything I needed...big bed, clean, AC working without problems, my own bathroom. Door got locked with a code and there's a lock from the inside as well. Location is good. Close enough to walk to the beach but far enough to be in a quiet street so that you can sleep. Only downside was, that it's been quite pricey even though in Punta Cana area more or...
