Hostal Arboleda — Hotel in Santo Domingo

Be careful with this hostal. The place does not look like the pictures in real life and the area is really bad all around at night. One of the employees recommended me a guy for me to meet selected from a group of "boys" whose pictures he had on his cell and were "his friends" and the guy stole my cell, my wallet and run even with my passport. Not a good place to be. When the employee was confronted he tried get money out of me to get my cell back. I called the police at night and left the hostel. This place...

Credo di essere stato uno dei primi clienti dei nuovi gestori dell'hostal, un alberghetto familiare a due passi dal Conde, ci sono capitato per caso per passare la prima notte nella capitale, Angelica e Max (peraltro italiano e mio omonimo) mi hanno fatto sentire quasi come a casa con ogni attenzione, dandomi persino suggerimenti (risultati utilissimi) su dove alloggiare e cosa fare a Punta Cana e su altre spiagge migliori da visitare, come Macao. La colazione che mi hanno offerto era eccezionale, la frutta squisita! La pulizia e la comoditá della stanza (anche se poco arredata ma fresca) si sono rivelate decisamente superiori al confronto con altri hotel visitati durante la vacanza, tanto che ci sono tornato anche per l'ultima notte prima di partire, e per vacanze estive ho deciso di fermarmi qualche giorno in piú da loro all'arrivo, trovando molti miglioramenti ad accogliermi, oltre a un buon piatto di pasta e una specialitá venezolana! Mi hanno fatto provare la stanza panoramica, senza acqua calda, ma non ne ho sentito per niente la mancanza! Non potevo non ringraziarli con questa recensione, magari un pó di parte, ma assolutamente meritata, grazie...

The service and attention of the owners is spectacular. They were always willing to help with any minor detail. The AC worked great and the showers were hot. It is centrally located (right off of El Conde) yet it is not a party hotel and the rooms themselves were very isolated from the noise of the street. I highly recommend...
