Hostal Taxo Yura — Hotel in Mariscal Sucre

Block of Juan Rodriguez I also recommend highly for hostels (Pousada Maple and Casa Kanela). West of here on the opposite side of Foch Square, Hostel El Taxo was a good place except the bed was so hard (good thing I travel with a a thermorest) and you were not supposed to use the computer after 10pm...and I walked into the kitchen one day to find some little old lady bogarting my soda LOL.||||But real nice deal for like $16. Stayed here in 2003 and it was a good deal then also. Better now as I stayed in the same room (#7 I think) as in 2003 except now this private room has private bathroom/shower and a TV it did not have then. I was there after probably 6 months and i have found a worst behavior of the owner Sr. Pedro. I will never come back here. There are lots of hostels are available here. It was the best experience before but now it is totally unacceptable...R

(Old experience) It's the best place to live near Plaza Foch. Owner Mr. Pedro and staff is very friendly. Mr. Segundo is a person who is handeling everything here and he is very helpful. This place is amazing!! Just amazing!! We stayed here twice - rooms were large, very clean, had private bathrooms, very hot showers, wifi, and good locks on doors. Downstairs area has a kitchen, dining, and lounge area. Located a few blocks from Foch Square, it's quiet, with plenty of places to eat/drink nearby (easy walking distance). The host, Segundo, is incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive, and made sure our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. Hands down, this place was the best place we stayed in several months traveling in South America, and we couldn't recommend it...
