Hostal Urban Inn — Hotel in Mariscal Sucre

Friendly and eager to help staff spoke very little English, but w/ work and 'can do' attitude from each side we got communicated :) Linens were clean and changed twice over 8 days. Pillows were comfortable/clean. Adequate lighting in room and bathroom. Appropriate hostel quality. Common areas and my private room was cleaned very well each day. They have dorm and private rooms.||||Area was great many westerners walking day and night. Numerous nearby (easy walking distance) to restaurants, shops, travel agencies and pickup points (for tours to various popular day adventures). Plaza Foch is super popular intersection of restaurants and bars (pickup point for day tour buses in the morning) is 2-3 blocks from hostel (almost always police presence there to deter trouble = very touristy)||||Bathroom was clean and small but adequate.||||Laundry service available through 3rd party (reasonable price / clean clothes)||||The only concern was single tap shower= sometimes water not hot/couldnt adjust, BUT I asked they mailed some stamped postcard for me the day I left (no time for the post office) = Francia handled it / made my amigos very happy.||Ask the desk for a city map. The hotel is centrally located in the tourist district near bars & restaurants. Seemed very secure and staff were lovely. They also spoke a little English. ||The room was clean and tidy with storage facilities.||We did have have a wee issue of tracing the reservation but that was quickly resolved. I also had an issue with the hot water with the shower and the staff were very apologetic and resolved issue straight away.||The wifi worked great and there is a small but good functional kitchen.||Laundry can be done down the road for around $1.50 a kg.||Overall great stay, will happily stay...

We arrived in the middle of the night, but they were very helpful with checking us in and giving us our room anyway. She didn't know much english, but she tried her best.
