DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL|We booked and paid 10 months in advance. We eventually called and emailed months out and they confirmed the Suite (by name) via written e - correspondence. We had paid a significant amount of money to ensure that we had the right room for this special visit. ||When we arrived they said that as they had changed the category of the rooms, we were now in a (small) junior suite. Like a few other reviewers have said, they are NOT Suites! ||It was only after two days when I showed them the correspondence confirming the room by name that they accepted we were put into the wrong room. ||After much discussion (which was a distraction from being on holidays) they gave us the room we has booked and explained that they could not have given it to us earlier as they had allowed someone else to book it. ||They offered us a small amount by way of compensation, but no where near what we had paid (the difference) for the room|we had booked. ||So, I would NOT Recommend this place as they are deceptive; and you are taking your chances with them. ||I have waited three months since our visit to write this review, so it is not done in the 'heat of the moment' . ||Ps. If they respond and deny the contents of this review, then I would be happy to share relevant correspondence. ||I also note the limited number of reviews for a business that has allegedly been around...

First of all, book with the hotel directly and not through a third party. We saved a significant amount in that way.

Second, the location is gorgeous. There's a great restaurant literally in the hotel, a cute deck where animals trapse around and basically say hello, and right outside is the path to the main tourist walkway on the island, complete with our cruise's port and a wide variety of shops/restaurants. We even saw a cute dance recital of a local student group, alongside the water.

Lastly, we had three rooms that were all very different. The room I stayed in, with my husband, was gorgeous. It was spacious, had a wonderful shower, and still felt very aligned with everything else in Galapagos (including the toilet paper in the garbage and the lack of wasteful excessive amenities). I'm very picky about my cosmetic and hygiene products, so I can't speak to what they offered. The room my parents stayed in was clean, roomy, and had a balcony, but the balcony was to a sort of wild courtyard. My brother's room was pretty small, but still clean and comfortable. Our room was by far the best room, with gorgeous views of the ocean, and a lot of excess space. Everyone was still very happy with their choices, and my parents actually preferred their room, because it was much more quiet and secluded.

Overall, this hotel was a highlight of our trip and absolutely made me...

Never book it! Unfortunately, our stay at the hotel was disaster. First of all about the hotel, we paid 640$ per night and they even don’t have a tooth brush in the bathroom. They tried to have cozy rooms but they probably didn’t want to spend money for that, so the rooms are very poor. Second day of our stay, police came and closed the hotel because hotel didn’t paid taxes for many years. The policeman allowed us to stay one night, because they respected our situation of inconvenience and we spent the night with packed suitcases in the tiny room which they call suite. ||All this time, hotel owners only told us that we had to move to another hotel, nothing more. In the beginning they were talking about to give us only one night stay. We reminded them that we paid more than one night, actually 4 nights more and we had to fight for it endlessly. It’s unbelievable that they dared to left us in the street. ||||Next day, early morning, we had to move to another hotel, because police already was there to lock our room too. They took us by taxi and then water taxi(boat). Finally, we arrived at the new hotel but no-one talked us that the room wasn’t paid and they only paid after one day. We had to wait hours to get some room, it was horrible.||Finally, they promised refund for the rest of the money but 2 months left and we still...

Pro: Amazing room with sea view (Deluxe Suite), superb quiet location, free water, coffee and tea station, friendly staff and free bicycle rentals. Overall superb property on Santa Cruz. BUT: Do NOT book the breakfast. It is a rip-off - for 19 USD per person one would expect a decent breakfast at the Almar terrace which is shown on the hotel pictures. We trusted previous reviews and prepaid with breakfast. What a disappointment. They stopped the cooperation with the restaurant a few weeks ago and now serve their own "hostel style breakfast" on the first floor corridor facing room entrances and offer absolutely no choice as there is no kitchen (see picture). I recommend to book WITHOUT breakfast and directly go to the Almar terrace (we also had a fabulous dinner there) and spent 15 USD for a true a la carte breakfast with delicious cappucino, amazing staff and an incredible sea view (we saw baby sharks, giant sea turtles, pelicans fishing, sea lions, iguanas and plenty of fish while enjoying the food there)!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Blu Galapagos. Perfect location, exceptional staff, and overall great vibe! We stayed in one of the rooms with an ocean view (‘The Wolf’ room) and it was by far a standout for our holiday. Super spacious and luxurious! The hotel has absolutely everything you need - food, wifi, free coffee/water/snacks, comfortable rooms, and bikes. The restaurant downstairs was fantastic also. The breakfasts were very yummy and we had lunch and dinner there too throughout our stay. Huge shout outs to Angel who went above and beyond with his service throughout our stay. He had great recommendations and deeply cared about making sure we had a good time. He even remembered a lot about us to ensure he we had a lovely experience. Thank you Angel for making our visit extra special! Highly recommend this hotel when staying in the Galápagos Islands!
