Far from a pub! Except for the name, there's nothing pubby about this place. Yes, they've got some old wood paneling, but that's about it. Let's start with the drinks - they serve beers with the usual cocktails/drinks. Beer wise, it's the usual local stuff; no Guinness, no dark pints. Now tell me, what sort of pub does not serve a good ol' pint of Guinness? About service, I know you wouldn't walk into a pub expecting Ritz Carlton service, but where the hell is the friendliness of a pub? I was there on the first day of Ramadan, esrly at 7pm. The whole place was dead, as in ONE other table occupied. Yet, I couldn't sit at any of the tables, because it's for dinner (food) customers only. Nope, my 3 pints of beer is no good, not to mention there were no more customers the whole evening. Finally, this place is filled with smoke. Now I wouldn't mind smoking if there was 'decent' ventilation. Nope! Cancer from second hand skiing guaranteed, if you stay long enough.
In summary, this place is nothing but a bar that has Pub to it's name. Except for a few old folks, who've probably been frequenting here for a couple of decades, this place offers nothing special. If you've lived in the developed part of the world and visited a pub, this place would be the biggest turnoff. Do yourself a favor, and skip this place for good reason. That could even mean grabbing some beers at the drinkies, and hanging out on your balcony.
Pub 28, please remove the Pub from your name. You're a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNeed to rethink management attitude Mr Micheal and owner. Sadly an old favorite place down the trash, haven't been there in 20 years . We were a group of 11 expats , we didn't get even a smile . .. too much fuss about seats, booking set up ...etc ..and we were not a walk in .We were booked 2 weeks ago... We were following the final women football game between England and Spain and it went to penalties and guess what? in the last penalty, the cable goes out!!! we look at the management and they say sorry it's out of our hands!!! Then with the final check, they put in 3 items claiming that my other guests who left earlier, did not pay for them. We paid and we even tipped them. If there was a rating of -1 ... I would give them that. I can't really understand why they would ruin their reputation. We came on a Sunday 7:00 p.m. 40 degrees and already had a booking and half the pub was empty to get shitty service . At booking we were told that there is no minimum charge but we need to order food and drinks which we did - some had a full dinner, others just had a salad and drink etc. And one had his own bottle and paid 800 for it...and then they complain no , you have to pay 1,200 minimum which we refused and therefore we got this horrible...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I returned having lived in Zamelek back in 2001 to 2003. I was so disappointed to find the service had gone and staff seemed to only focus on those they knew and would tip at high levels. The beer was great it was cold and enjoyed. However I arrived at 13:15 and the pub was not busy with about 2:1 ratio of staff to customers. At 14:45 still unable to order anything to eat I decided enough time had been wasted, waiting for zero service, so left and enjoyed a great meal elsewhere. So if its a cold beer then I would recommend, if itās a meal then go somewhere else as they donāt care about service. I must say never have I experienced being totally ignored in a restaurant like this anywhere in the world before. At first I thought maybe it was the tactic to make you buy more drinks, but hurting customers in this way is wrong and suggest both a staff and management policy change is...
