Osama was a fantastic host. I would text him as early as 2 am sometimes and he would respond within minutes. He went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable. We became good friends quickly and he taught me so much about Egypt and the culture. He even invited us to eat dinner with him and his beautiful family. His wife prepared and cooked food for TWO WHOLE DAYS and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. My friend and I ate like kings. We were close to tears at one point because we were so overwhelmed by their generosity.
We had mixed feelings about the location of the Air BnB. On one hand, you will wake up to the most stunning view imaginable, with a great view of the pyramids and a stunning sunrise (a perfect backdrop for these ancient structures). My friend and I would go out on the tiny balcony and just gaze out at the desert in awe for what felt like hours some times. If nothing else, this made our stay here worth it. I should also mention that the location is a little confusing because the address they give you doesn’t show up in Google Maps correctly (this frustrated Uber drivers to no end). I would suggest flagging the actual location for your convenience. The accommodation was very spacious, comfortable and clean. Has a nice big kitchen which we used to cook in a lot. They were very generous with the air conditioning which was much appreciated. We had the place feeling like a refrigerator which made it such a relief to walk into after our long days of being out in the hot Egyptian sun. One issue we had was that our shower/bathtub wasn’t working (no water pressure) and it took about 5 or 6 days for the host to resolve this issue. Other than that, all our needs and more were taken care of in a timely fashion. There is a side street nearby (2 minute walk) where there are several markets that you can buy food from for cheap (vegetables, fruit, meat, candy, some hookah bars). It’s very convenient in that sense. I have no regrets about staying here. I LOVED our place and it made our Egypt trip fantastic. It’s very well-priced for what you get. Again, I can’t overstate how grateful I was to have Osama as a host. Make sure to buy a souvenir or two from his papyrus shop It’s people like him that make travelling...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent booking at your hotel. I had booked two rooms through Booking.com, each 50 square meters, to prepare for my wedding. As is customary, I intended to bring a makeup artist to assist with my makeup. Before finalizing my booking, I contacted your hotel to confirm if it would be possible for the makeup artist to access the rooms. I was informed that the rooms were too small to accommodate the makeup artist, which contradicted my understanding of their size. I had previously inquired at another hotel where a 20-square-meter room allowed for a makeup artist and up to five people.I was also informed that the prices on Booking.com were incorrect and that booking directly through the hotel would result in a significantly higher rate. Despite my refusal to pay double the price, I was told that the management would contact me. Subsequently, a person claiming to be the manager informed me that makeup artists were not allowed due to concerns about damage to walls and linens. This reason seemed unreasonable, especially given the potential for damage from any guest and the fact that there should be insurance coverage for such issues. When I expressed my intention to leave a review about this experience, I was threatened with a negative review in return. Furthermore, the individual searched for any of my personal work-related pages to leave a poor review and undermine my credibility. This experience has left me very disappointed and frustrated. I expected a much higher level of service and professionalism, especially during such an important event. I kindly request a resolution to this issue and compensation for the inconvenience and poor...
Read moreFirst of all, it's valuable for money paid, you'll get an air conditioned room in a nice location near to the pyramids & the GEM, you'll sleep on comfortable beds with clean sheets, you'll have TV, electric kettle, wardrobe in your room, you'll get stable WiFi connection, you'll get an average breakfast In the morning but you won't see a pleasant view from your room window.
Anyways, all I mentioned is more than enough for the money paid, but I have only one comment, the staff doesn't act in a professional way.
That's because, when we arrived, it took us about 15 min. to check in because we spent some time looking for someone to check us in inside the bazar in the facing building to the hotel, also we spent some time in the checking in process itself, after that we were placed in a room with broken TV, so we changed it to another room, after that, the staff member turned on the AC for us on a low fan with a temperature of 28'C, we adjusted it anyways and it went well, our last complain was about a minor issue but it gave us a bad impression about room preparation, it was that we didn't find water or teabags or tissues in the room & there was no soap in the toilet, but anyways, we managed to fix that by ourselves.
As a conclusion, it was still a good value for money but you need to have some patience while dealing...
