Our experience at the Turquoise was a mixed bag.
Some pros
The location is obviously great Most of the staff at the reception are very accommodating and their English is very competent The food in the terrace was very decent and the people working there also very accommodating
Some more cons
The hotel by design and deliberately is overbooking their rooms. There is no guarantee that when you arrive at the hotel you'll have the room waiting for you - rather they 'll send you at another hotel down the road. We were lucky to find rooms but the people after us, not so much. Being next to a very busy street, there's so much noise during night time. Add to this the fact that the windows of our rooms don't seal tightly and this all makes it much harder to sleep There was a stain in one of our beddings
Two major issues we noticed were the following
There was a short-circuit in the hot boiler and whenever one touched both the shower battery and shower head with water coming out of the latter, they'd get an electric shock! We raised it with the receptionist and they moved us to another room. In my mind this says that there 's zero maintenance of the equipment like this which makes it all dangerous to use. The cleaner would always leave a keychain with all the keys to all the rooms of the second floor on top of a trolley situated in plain view on the second floor. I reported this and returned the keys to the reception only to find them again at the same spot. I re-reported this a second time the same day to a second receptionist, and only this time they took proper action. This practice, and the first employee's do-nothing reaction to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Turquoise Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum View Hotel for a weekend getaway. The view from my room was absolutely incredible, and the hotel was a great value for the money. I especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace, where I could have breakfast or a light dinner while watching the pyramids at night. The hotel is located in a great location, right next to the Grand Egyptian Museum. This made it very easy to visit the museum and see all the amazing artifacts. The hotel is also close to the pyramids of Giza, so I was able to walk to them in just a few minutes. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. They were always happy to answer my questions and help me with anything I needed. I especially appreciated their help in booking tours and transportation. My room at the hotel was very comfortable and clean. The bed was big and soft, and the bathroom was spacious and well-appointed. I also liked that the room had a balcony, so I could enjoy the view of the pyramids from my room. The rooftop terrace at the hotel is one of its best features. It offers stunning views of the pyramids and the surrounding area. I loved having breakfast up there in the morning and watching the sunrise over the pyramids. It was also a great place to have a light dinner at night and enjoy the view of the pyramids lit up. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the Turquoise Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum View Hotel. The view from my room was amazing, the hotel was a great value for the money, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to...
Read moreOther than the hotel being across from the pyramid, this place was terrible. We check in with the impression that we would have a window view of the pyramid and a big tree was blocking our view. We politely asked if they can move us to another room and they said “no” without reasoning.. as we were able to see the room directly beside us was completely empty + a few other rooms on our floor. Not only that but our tv wasn’t working, we had to call them upstairs to fix it. No fridge in the room so if you plan on going out to eat, you better eat everything or leave it, don’t bother asking for a to-go box because there’s nowhere to store your food. We’d be polite enough to greet them when leaving and when coming back, yet all they would do is look at us and not say anything unless we addressed them first. They didn’t have face cloths (the small rags to clean your body with) only big hand towels that made no sense to shower with. The showers are the size of a closet so it was very hard to maneuver in there, especially with the big HAND towel. No basic info or introduction, what amenities they have, etc was given when we initially checked in - we literally realized the night we were checking out after coming in from dinner that they had a rooftop restaurant and that’s only because we heard loud music coming from our hotel.
If you’re thinking about booking, just don’t. Yes the view was great (if you’re standing outside and if you get lucky to be placed in a room with that view) however; the hospitality was terrible.. no manners at all, not accommodating at all, by far the worst experience and we will never...
