We stayed at this marvelous, exotic, beautiful, spacious, well situated, quiet place with a lovely, large garden and huge terrace looking out at the Nile, which is close by. It's a five or ten minute walk to the ferry to Luxor's east bank. Its on a quiet cul-de-sac which is just a few minutes walk to all the shops.and ATMs of the area - feels like a village, but is just a short ferry ride from the very center of Luxor. This architectural gem was designed and built by Walid, who also runs it. You experience Egypt here first hand. It's a unique and thrilling place with high vaulted ceilings and special ambience. Walid will keep his distance and afford you privacy, or he will cook for you, and if you invite him, he'll often sit with you during his deliciously made and filling meals of unique Egyptian cuisine. At our request, he prepared us breakfast and dinner every day, and sat with us on the terrace while we dined. From our conversations with this friendly, bright and knowledgeable man, we learned a whole lot about Egyptian society and way of life. His English is excellent. Should you like, he'll arrange for someone to collect you from, and return you to the airport. This driver, who also speaks very good English, can take you to the attractions of the area, and even drive you to a stupendous temple an hour away, etc. If you desire a quide, Walid will arrange for a top guide who speaks fluent English, studied history, and will enhance your sightseeing immeasurably by selecting the best places for you to visit and prepare you for them by explaining what they have to offer and informing you about their history, the mythology and art they exhibit, their architecture, etc. Our stay at the Golden Palace Villa was the highlight of our trip to Egypt. Not only did we love the beauty and exceptional ambience of the place, but our long and fascinating conversations with Walid were really memorable. The guide and driver saw to it that we took in so many of the superb gems of the area. If you're going to Luxor, by all...
Read moreThis is absolutely a must go! The days we have spent in Walids house was the highlight of our trip. The house and garden are realy beautiful, its spacious clean and you will have everything you need. The house is just a few meters away from the ferry (and Egyptian faluka boats) at the West bank of Luxor. You can see the boats on the nile from the balcony! The West bank is the best side to stay, because it is more relaxt. Walid is the best host you can imagine: he offers coffee and tea, always available for a good conversation (but this is up to you, can also be perfectly private) also gives you help organizing your trips (we did an amazing hot balloon ride across te Nile river and went on bicycles to the Valley of Kings). Please dont forget to have breakfast at Walids palace, because this was the best food we ate the whole trip.
At Walids house it felt more like visiting a friend then meeting a host. We look back at sitting at the campfire and having good conversations about everyting...

Cleanliness, super comfortable, quite, stylishly, close many attractions points, restaurants and public ferry boat. This place is kitchened and fully furnished good both for family and couples. But this is nothing compared with Walid's hospitality. I'm glad to meet such amazing person and I hope to meet Walid and his family again soon in...
