🌟 Our second stay at Steigenberger Aqua Magic and again, an absolute dream vacation! 🌟 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Written by Nadine & Patrick from Switzerland 🇨🇭
We are now staying at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic for the second time, and once again, everything has been absolutely fantastic! From the warm welcome to the cleanliness, the outstanding food, and the consistently friendly and helpful staff this hotel delivers top-notch service with heart. ❤️
🍽️ Culinary Experience – Our Personal Highlight!
1️⃣ Magic Flavors (Buffet Restaurant): Every day brought something fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner the variety is impressive, and everyone will find something they love. A touching moment: the restaurant manager recognized us and greeted us warmly with “Welcome home, my friends!” 🥹 The kitchen and service teams are always cheerful, attentive, and professional thank you!
2️⃣ Sky Restaurant: Fantastic grilled meats, show cooking, and top-notch service. The view over Hurghada, especially at sunset, is absolutely breathtaking. 🌇
3️⃣ Magic Orient: This poolside oriental restaurant had a beautiful ambiance and excellent food. Special thanks to Omar, the assistant manager incredibly friendly, professional, and made us feel very welcome. 🍢🍚
4️⃣ Palappa (Italian cuisine): Delicious pasta and pizza, great service, and a cozy Italian vibe. 🍝🍕
🏨 Rooms & Reception
Our first room was located above the Shisha bar, which was quite noisy until 3 a.m. However, the reception team reacted immediately and moved us to a quieter room excellent customer service! 👏 The rooms are spacious, clean, well-equipped (TV, hairdryer, large sink, storage space), and the housekeeping staff were always polite and cheerful. 🧼🛏️
🏊♂️ Pools & Outdoor Area
The hotel grounds are well-maintained and spacious. We especially loved the lazy river with float tubes super relaxing! Unfortunately, some guests ignored the posted rules and swam in the channel without tubes, even wearing jogging pants and T-shirts very unhygienic and disrespectful. 😣 Still, the lifeguards did an amazing job keeping everything under control – friendly, present, and professional, even when not taken seriously by some guests. Respect! 👏
🛡️ Hotel Security
The security team is excellent always attentive, helpful, and friendly. They ensure guests disinfect their hands upon returning from excursions and make sure no children leave the hotel unattended. A big thank you to this outstanding team! 👮♂️🧴
💆 Spa & Beauty
PlanetSpa: The spa area is amazing – we enjoyed top-quality massages and relaxing treatments. 😌✨ Thanks to the team you were wonderful!
RaaSpa: However, the facial treatment inside the hotel spa was disappointing – felt unprofessional and below the otherwise high standards of the hotel. In contrast: the facial treatment by Natia in the Aldau spa area next door was a million times better – professional, friendly, and totally worth it. 💖
🌹 Romantic Dinner on the Beach
For only €40 per person, we had a beautifully decorated private table directly by the sea, with a customized menu and excellent service. The setting was peaceful, romantic, and absolutely magical. 🌅🍽️🌹 An unforgettable highlight – 100% recommended!
🤿 Ilios Diving – Incredible Experience!
We did a private dive trip on the Aldau 7 – and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Huge thanks to Nicole, Captain Hamdi Dolvin (the best!), and diving instructor Mohamed for the perfect organization. We saw dugongs, dolphins, turtles, and many other sea creatures – the trip was safe, friendly, and beautifully guided. 🐬🐢🌊
🙏 Our Conclusion
We’re still here enjoying our last few days but we already want to say: Thank you to every single staff member at Steigenberger Aqua Magic! From the restaurant and housekeeping to the reception, security, spa, and diving team you all made our vacation truly special and unforgettable. ❤️
Next year we plan to explore a new country 🫶
Warm greetings from Switzerland, Nadine &...

Whilst there were some redeeming qualities to the hotel, I do feel like our experience was somewhat tarnished.||The positives:|- The lazy river is really lovely, it gives you a good chance to see the hotel without being overheated. |- Housekeeping staff were very kind and their manager was lovely. |- Guest relations staff were extremely helpful and constantly checking in. |- Ellie in the animation team was fabulous, very good at getting people involved without being pushy. |- The waiters in the buffet area were fantastic, very helpful and service with a smile. |- The rooms and public areas were mostly clean, reception in particular was spotless. |- The onsite artist was absolutely fantastic and is a genuinely lovely person. |- Room service was excellent, super fast and the food was fabulous. |- The onsite pharmacy turned out to be very beneficial and the staff in there were so kind, same goes for the clinic, I can’t fault the doctors and supporting staff. |- We loved the sanitisation stations and that you were sanitised going into the buffet. |- The Hurghada museum and shop that is within walking distance was DEFINITELY worth a visit. Fixed prices, everything you could need and there was a great historical selection to look through. |- The local Red Sea Mall was also very good, reasonable prices and lots to offer. ||The negatives:|- 4 days into our holiday, my mum was cooped up in the clinic with gastroenteritis caused by food poisoning… we only ate in the hotel. The service from guest relations and clinic staff was fantastic but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Unfortunately, we are still waiting to see if the travel insurance will cover the many thousand euro bill. |- We visited the onsite salon for pedicures and unfortunately, the staff used a file that was too strong and caused 2 deep injuries to my mums foot which also required treatment from the pharmacy as she is diabetic. Again this was dealt with but it shouldn’t have happened. |- I was asked by a waiter in the reception area to leave a google review as their manager was watching them, he then hovered over me until I’d left a 5 star review and named him. This left me feeling incredibly uncomfortable. As soon as I left the hotel, that review was deleted.|- We had to keep asking for our room mini fridge to be replenished. |- I had missing towels after the room was cleaned. |- For the first few days I had to keep visiting reception as I was experiencing consistent WiFi issues. |- The adult pool and surrounding area was filthy, the floors were thick with dust and dirt and the pools had dirty floors and constant floating scum. |- We witnessed people reserving sunbeds, including inside the adult pool. This was mentioned to staff but they did nothing to deter them. |- Both our rooms had either faulty drainage, faulty plugs and/or faulty air conditioning. |- You are constantly waiting for lifts, there was only 1 lift to service our side of the building and it was nowhere near enough. |- The alcohol wasn’t great, it all tasted like hand sanitizer. |- We were unable to find the source but we also experienced skin complaints including rashes, this also had to be dealt with by pharmacy staff at a cost. |- We witnessed undercooked meat on numerous occasions, we ended up sticking to chips and rice to be safe. We all lost weight on this holiday. |- Some of the onsite shops were extortionate, one of them wanted to charge me $50 for 3 tiny trinkets that I purchased elsewhere for a fraction of the price. ||Unfortunately, given the issues, we would not return and we did not...
Read moreBrilliant holiday. Lovely hotel with great facilities and pools. Plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day, the lifeguards will help find sunbeds and put the parasols up. Bottled water is available all day. Minibar stocked daily. We weren’t impressed with the beach area, however that is just our preference so we spent more time in the pool areas. All the staff are friendly but not pushy. The food wasnt overly impressive but was to a good standard and there was plenty of choice, we chose to eat breakfast in the magic palappa most mornings, although this doesnt have as big a selection as the main buffet (magic flavours) it did offer enough for us and wasnt as busy. We also had lunch there a couple of times which offered a different selection to the main buffet ie pizzas. The adult only rooftop pool is excellent, but when windy they are unable to put the parasols up so it can get extremly hot however there are plenty of other pools available. The lazy river is a great way to start the day. There is a good selection of drinks available from all the bars. Snack bar offers hot dogs and burgers in the afternoon, you can also get these in the snack bar in the souk area, where the entertainment is, in the evening. The Sky bar is a great place to watch the sunset in the evening. A la carte options are also good but not outstanding, you can pay addtional money for higher quality steaks etc that are cooked in front of you and higher quality wines however we decided to stick to the all inclusive menu options and house wine. There is a good selection of shops both in the complex and also just outside. Our room was spacious and clean overlooking a pool area which suited us well. We found the staff to be helpful and polite. They also offer breakfast and/or lunch boxes if you are going out for the day, these just need to be booked the day before. There is a complimentary bus from the hotel to senzo mall and hurghada city center which runs on certain days of the week and just needs to be booked the day before. We didnt use this, however we used In Drive to order taxis and found this to be easy to use and cheap to get around. Security staff are great. Entertainment was what you would expect at a family resort that caters to different nationalities and the souk area is a nice setting. We noticed that staff are constantly cleaning however not so good at laying the tables in the main buffet after cleaning the table quickly so sometimes would need to ask a staff member for cutlery. |We really enjoyed our 2 week stay here, the only reason for not being a five star is that the food could be improved, we weren’t impressed with the beach area, and we would have liked a bar that showed sports in the all inclusive (Elements does show sports and football but is an additonal cost for drinks), but these things are just personal preference and would still...
