I stayed at this hotel while on a business trip and I really enjoyed my stay here for a number of reasons.
As I was traveling for work, the desk set up is really useful for just that purpose. The desk is not planted under an oversized television. It was by the window allowing for a view while sitting at the desk. I liked this set up a lot.
Quick elevators. Heated bathroom floors. Strong shower pressure. Decent bathroom lighting.
The room was small, a single king or queen maybe, but I liked the size of this room. It felt quaint and personal for the 6 days I was there.
Bed: Ive stayed in Airbnb's, B&B's, and whatever else besides a hotel that have had amazing beds. But I have never stayed in a hotel, a chain hotel, that had a comfortable bed. Never. The first 2-3 days sleeping are often uncomfortable, borderline painful. Not here. This bed was very firm but pliable. Typical overly soft pillows but the mattress made up for it.
Restaurant: Ok so shocker here. The hotel food was ACTUALLY pretty good. I typically avoid hotel food, but the 2nd floor restaurant was actually good! The salmon at lunch, the crepes/pancakes at breakfast along with fried eggs. Lots of options and every option I had was really good. A very nice surprise. I alway prefer to explore food options in new cities but you wont be disappointed if you have to go with the hotel food.
The Gym:
Easily one of the best hotel gym setups I have ever been to. Hotel gyms are often shabby and old. Old feeling. Old smelling. Old equipment. Not this one! Lots options for free weights, cable machine, a smith machine (or something very close to it which I have never seen in a hotel gym), cable machines, a leg press (also have never seen this in a hotel gym!). Just a great space. Hell, the views along are enough to visit the gym if you nee an excuse to get moving.
I enjoyed my stay here. It was within walking distance to old town, with walking distance of a lot of great eats and drinks and I like that I could call a car and there is a very visible and open space to be picked up/dropped off. No dark entry ways here!
Recommend. Would definitely...
Read moreI honestly think the hotel does not deserve 4⭐, and at this price it should offer better facilities and service. I booked the superior room to celebrate my girlfriends birthday, and I thought that as 4 star hotel they would make a little bit of effort to make our stay the most enjoyable and memorable.
We stayed there from 28th-30th on 21st floor.
Negative: The superior room is smaller than what it seems on the pictures, quite generic and much smaller than in most 4-5 star hotels The room stank of drain dirt Very warm at night, aircon doesn't work as it should Outdated TV, no option of Netflix or any other movie app The hair dryer wasn't working, and it was extremely dirty, sticky and covered in all kinds of hair products. It must've never been cleaned over the 3 days our room was never cleaned, and towels never replaced, although I have left the card with a request for the room to be cleaned each time we've left to explore the city. Eventually, fresh towels were given to us, after calling the reception to request them. The choice of food at Breakfast is quite poor. The salmon did not seem fresh at all, I had stomach ache after. The pancakes with maple syrup would've been great, but as I had the first chunk I realised they were frozen inside. They must be prepared the day before and reheated. I understand refrigerating pancake mix and frying them in the morning, but serving partially frozen pancakes, that's really disturbing. Wellness centre. There's only saunarium (quite low heat) to use with your other half, but the sauna is only available in the locker room. There's no jacuzzi, which was a bit disappointing. Pool is okay, with a view on the city.
Positive: about 10-15min walk from old town umbrellas available at reception quiet good pastries at breakfast view of the city, but don't expect anything great view of the Baltic Sea
In general we didn't quite enjoy the stay, and wished that I had booked a more cosy hotel in Old Town, even if we'd have to use other...
Read moreI stayed 3 nights in Hotel Radisson Blu Olimpia Tallinn mainly for work (September 2024). This was my second time staying in this hotel. It has been a good stay again, even better than the previous time.
I had an easy and smooth check-in. Although I booked my stay with two different reservations, the hotel anticipated to this and could me check-in immediately for the whole stay in the same room (usually you have to return to the front desk to check in again for the second reservation). Therefor I specifically want to point out Anni from the frontdesk for her professionalism and kind service during my entire stay.
Also, upon checking in as a guest, you receive a very useful A5 paper with general and practical information (opening hours, emergency numbers, nearest hospital, room service, spa rules, etc.). This can be a good example for many other hotels.
My room was on the 16th floor and I had in the room everything that I needed. The room was clean and the housekeeping was excellent! Two minor problems: TV in the room has a streaming feature but didn't seem to be compatible with my (Belgian) services. And from time to time there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom, perhaps due to the ventilation.
The breakfast buffet is good and the staff at the breakfast is friendly. Hand sanitizer is easy available in the breakfast room.
The spa, gym and pool are very nice and clean. This area is a big advantage for guests in the hotel. It's a detail but the availability of a natural aromatic oil for the saunawater would be a plus.
One evening I had dinner in the restaurant (which is now part of the lobby bar): it was ok, only the service was a bit worse because the waiter spoke English less fluently.
The extra attention the Radisson Blu hotel chain is giving to the members of its loyalty programme "Radisson Rewards" is very pleasant and appreciated.
I do hope to visit Tallinn again, and to have another chance...
