Since I can't reply directly to the owner's comment on my previous review, I'm going to write a new one:
Reply from the owner: Hi Kristina, Salmon soup is made with blue cheese and Ceasar salad prawn are precooked, flawored 24h in marinade and served cold, because it is cold salad. Customer is king if ome acts accordingly. ;-)
My answer: First of all - nobody contacted me to get more information about the situation that happened, so I guess it's not very objective if you get only one side of what was happening. The situation as we saw it from the client's perspective (there was 3 adults and 1 7-year old kid): After ordering it took about 5-10 minutes for the waitress to discover that dishes we ordered are out of stock, some of the orders were later misunderstood. After that, they brought us only half of the drinks and then hot sweet pancakes (before any main dishes). After we got one by one our main courses (I can't recall what was the time between the dishes, but it took time), my friend asked the waitress what is exactly in that soup. I'll add a picture of that soup, so anyone can decide by themselves. As the waitress couldn't explain what's in that, my friend decided not to continue eating this. Prawns were cooked horribly - I understand clearly that they don't have to be hot to be cooked. Tomatoes in the salad were spoiled as well. Taste overall wasn't worth its price. After waiting for over an hour, my friend's child was still waiting for his food (not talking about that it would be just nice to serve children's food first). While waiting we were watching staff playing with the ball in the kitchen. Then we decided not to wait any longer and went to pay. We explained very politely what was wrong with the food and that we don't want to pay for that - we paid for one pasta, all drinks, pancakes and visiting fee. The girl that ate pasta had upset stomach later. There was no scene, drama, humiliation, comments or the even higher voice of tone. So I'm really surprised and upset about the owner's comment that "customer is king if one acts...
Read moreUnfortunately our visit to this place was so so.
We came on a Saturday afternoon. The place was packed with people, mostly families with kids. There were several cats mostly hiding, you could see their silhouettes sometimes as they were escaping from chasing kids.
The prices are high, the quality is so-so. We ordered a coffee and a smoothie, with entrance fees the sum was 20+ eur. The coffee was bad, the smoothie was ok except the metal straw - it felt strange to drink through it. The entrance fee - 6 eur - is rather high whereas you don’t really get to interact with cats much. The cafe is nothing different from any cafe except that you know there might be cats around, so you look for them but with not much success.
The service is also so-so as the only personnel is a gang of teenage girls who are mostly hanging with each other at the counter and welcoming some passing by friends. Some cats hanging at the counter because there the food is being distributed.
Overall a rather boring place, nothing is happening, the cats ( we totally saw around 4 of them) were not particularly friendly or social, they are mostly hiding or sleeping so you don’t want to disturb them, they hardly ever approach you as they look scared of kids and people.
The same day on the way back we met our neighbor’s dogs for 2 minutes and had way more fun petting them for free.
Overall, although the concept is interesting, I cannot recommend this place, it was a disappointment - something should be changed to make the stay pleasant and the...
Read moreLess able to understand some reviews, some are exaggerated, with strange expectations. It probably depends on your attitude, expectations, cultural background, empathy or an eye for realistic situations. I can understand the €7 charge and, of course, you are informed of this in advance when you book and when you enter. At the table, we were informed about the code of behaviour towards cats, which is written on the first page of the menu in both Estonian and English. Some guests do not understand or respect the code of behaviour towards cats - both children and adults! Think about it! Presumably the €7 fee creates the attitude for some - I can do what I want with the cats. The room is spacious, enough room for cats and humans. The cats always had the opportunity to retreat to have their peace and quiet, but many cats ran around with the guests or slept near the guests. And with mutual respect, the cats could be stroked and played with. The café had a pleasant smell, but for me personally it was too warm and lacked fresh air. The waiters were young and shy, but always very nice and friendly. The food was ok, as were the prices, given the ever-increasing prices and taxes in Estonia. All the cats come from the animal shelter in Viljandi. They were selected beforehand so that they could withstand the situation in the café and fit in well. They can all be adopted. Adopt - do not...
