Restoran ROOF — Restaurant in Tallinn

The waiting time for being able to order drinks and then for the drinks themselves is far too long. It can be suggested to the restaurant manager that he trains his candidates to be waiters, young and friendly. Because waiters are not, unfortunately. I don't know about Estonia, but in Poland, admittedly not very elegantly, this style of service is called 'tray drive'. God forbid, I am not taking anything away from anyone.

This restaurant is an example that the food can be very good, the prices very high, and the level of waiter service makes you feel a certain discomfort that makes you tip 0 Euros. Indeed, one can accept the high, very high prices compared to other Tallinn restaurants, because the food is worth it. But the quality of the food and the high prices do not go hand in hand with the quality of the service - a pity.

Also, if the restaurant is open until 10pm and I can't order dessert at 9:40pm, I think this is some kind of mistake. It would be worth noting on the menu until which time you take orders, as this is hardly elegant in a restaurant that pretends...

We spent New Year’s Eve dinner at this restaurant, and while the venue itself is lovely, the experience was disappointing. The restaurant was severely understaffed, leading to incredibly long wait times. We waited an hour just to get a bottle of wine, which only arrived alongside the main course — after two sets of starters.

One starter, the Caesar salad, hilariously arrived without the chicken. It felt like they had prioritized hiring Eurovision stars for entertainment over staffing enough waiters or cooks to handle the night. The service issues were so bad that many diners left hungry before 11 p.m.

Locals tend to overlook hotel restaurants and usually for a reason. They seldom suprise and rarely do they go the extra mile to make the restaurant stand out. Roof is different. It does not try to show off. The menu, interior and even the music in the background is your standard modern european fare. It is just that the execution is really-really good.
