I wanted so badly to love this hotel! While it was more of a “like”, there certainly were some things to enjoy.
Pros: very receptive staff on WhatsApp (I didn’t use anything else). The contactless check in was made more helpful by quick responses. locally crafted and eco-friendly textiles and furnishings in the rooms! Made for great charm and a very cozy environment. they seem to have thought many things through. The items chosen for the rooms were convenient and useful. I appreciated the availability of a Polaroid camera too, even though I didn’t use it! the bed was very comfortable! I really like that there is a community kitchen area downstairs. I used it a couple of times. There was never anyone else in there. I also used the co-working space, where there is a lovely garden room (pictured below). the location is really wonderful and very central. Easy walk everywhere!
Cons: the aircon did not work. I was here in the summer, so this was a really big deal. It caused some sleepless nights. the shower does not get very hot. the check in process was not the easiest. My check-in information was not sent to me ahead of time, making it a bit stressful when I arrived. It would have been much easier to have filled it out beforehand instead of scrambling to figure it out when I arrived. Word of advice - message them on WhatsApp before hand (contact found if you just google) and get your check in form so that you’re ready to go when you arrive! I would say you need to be relatively tech-savvy to navigate this process. also did have some weirdness regarding checking in. First, I got 2 messages about having missed my check-in and that they were going to cancel my booking if I didn’t respond in a certain amount of time. Secondly, the cleaners knocked on my door my second day of being there asking when I was checking out that day…. But I wasn’t checking out until several days later. It just wasn’t the smoothest. I know this is probably stated somewhere, but not getting my room cleaned the entire time I was here was a little disappointing. one big thing was that the dishes were not very clean! One of the bottles had some mildew or dirt in the cap of it, so I avoided using that one.
Overall, I think the biggest deal of all of the things stated above was the aircon, so that determines a lot of my review. 😆 I liked this hotel, but would probably look for another next...

The hotel is in a prime position for visiting all the tourist spots and within range of a great number of restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs. The double bed in the room was very comfortable with two large single doonas for covers. There was sufficient space for storage of two cases and clothes with plenty of hangars but if you needed more you could get them from the guest lounge on the ground floor. The room has plates, cups, bowls, glasses and a range of cutlery. There is a microwave and a fridge (though doesn’t have ice and is not super cold). There is a fridge and freezer on the ground floor for guests to use. Nice touches in the room like an international adapter and charging leads, camera and a cloth shopping bag that guests can take with them when leaving. There is a tv in the room but can’t comment on how good or bad it is since we are on holiday and don’t use it. Same goes for the free passes to the gym - holidays are to be enjoyed. The shower is great with two types of shower heads. Towels are provided and should you need more they are available level -1 (pantry) which is also stocked with other items like batteries, |cleaning clothes etc.|A shout out here to the speedy response from management. Noted to them that the room could use a brush and dust pan. Next day two turned up in the pantry. Here is the bonus for guests travelling for a period of time. In the pantry there are two washing and drying machines, (free of charge) and with detergent and softener and irons and ironing boards. From the hotel Helsinki is easy to get everywhere by walking but the transport system is great. Suggest before you arrive you download the transport app HSLHRT great for getting you around.
