We were excited by the Beef & Lobster menu, and had high hopes (to match their high prices).
The waitress was quick to take our drinks order, but slow to deliver. The expensive bottle of wine was quickly produced, but the three draught beers had to be asked for three times (finally received in time for the starters).
The starters were ordered, and ten minutes later the waitress returned to inform that one of the starters was unavailable. We asked for a few moments to decide a replacement. Those starters that were available actually arrived before we had a chance to order a replacement, so we just left it.
Two of our friends ordered steaks, one medium and one rare. When they were brought out, the steaks were identical: so we asked which was rare, and after a bit of fumbling and a faux display of confidence, the "rare" steak was determined. Neither were rare, of course.
The surf & turf is the showpiece of this restaurant: but neither delivered. In one lobster dish, the claw of the lobster was uncooked. Simply raw. The waitress was horrified to see this, and offered... a complimentary digestif. Our friend, who had eaten some, had to excuse himself as it had made him ill. We asked for management, which was a mistake. The man was unapologetic and condescending. It's one thing to make the mistake of serving uncooked meat, it's quite another to antagonise the customer. Instead of doing his best to improve the situation, the manager asked what we wanted them to do. When we asked them to strike the lobster off the bill, they attempted to barter with us, "it's only one part of it that's uncooked". We were made to feel like we were ungrateful, quite bizarre given the premium prices of this restaurant. When something goes wrong, it shouldn't be down to the customer to negotiate how we proceed.
Overall, we went home feeling bullied, disappointed, and (for one of us) sick. Couldn't recommend the place: a very odd combination of mediocre table service, poor quality food, and...

Went there as a group of 7 to celebrate a great week of skiing. The place is selling itself as a higher end restaurant so thought this the perfect place to celebrate.
Unfortunately the experience left us all deflated due to the terrible service and average food.
Staff were friendly but didn’t seem to have any structure or organization on how to operate a restaurant. The front of house gentleman was all over the place and it all seemed a bit chaotic. Took us ages to get drink/menu. We had issues with the wine (staff were putting the red wine in an ice bucket to serve), they charged us for an extra bottle (that we had to ask to be removed form the bill). Staff didn’t clear the starters for a considerable period of time which delayed our mains. A few of us had steak and the server didn’t have a clue which one was cooked to which preference asked for. We gave up in the end and had what was serves as we couldn’t face further delay. Veggie burger was served cold. Fires were burnt. We were that disappointed that we skipped the coffee and desert. We also had a child with us who had the kids meal and they even messed that order up. We asked:ordering her ice cream choice twice and still received the wrong flavors.
The restaurant wasn’t even half full so can’t fathom why it was so poor.
All in all a very disappointing experience, not one I’d have expected from a French restaurant considering how much pride they usually take in delivering great service.
When highlighted to the front of house about how disappointed we were with the service there was no apology or questioning why we felt this way.

Read moreWe were extremely disappointed with our visit to the Beef and Lobster. The service was incredibly slow. We arrived on time at 7.45. We waited over 15 minutes for anyone to come to the table and take a drinks order. We did not get our starters until after 9 pm. We then waited a long time for the table to be cleared and the mains to arrive. When they finally did, only one out of 2 half lobsters came. The person whose meal did not arrive had to wait 30 minutes for his to arrive by which time we had all finished. The lobster which arrived was half the size of the other one and without utensils to eat it with. The steak was ordered medium but the waiter heard medium well. I corrected him but 2 of the steaks arrived well done. The menu was not large and 2 of the mains were unavailable. The wine on the board was not available. The lobster came without hand bowls and we had to take napkins off empty tables as there was never anyone an available . At 10.20 the table had not been cleared and no one had asked if we wanted desert. The service was totally catastrophic. I felt the least they could do was to take the cost of the lobster that didn’t arrive off the bill. The waitress went to speak to the manager and came back and said that they couldn’t do that because it had been eaten and not rejected at the time. If we had done that, the person would not have had anything to eat and it was around 10pm. We asked to speak to the manager or duty manager at the time but they refused to come and speak to us.
