Absolute Tourist Trap - Avoid at All Costs! This place is an absolute rip-off and a prime example of a tourist trap. I stopped by for a quick, casual drink and was charged an outrageous €16 for two simple teas. That's €8 per tea! There's no justification for such an exorbitant price, even for a location near a major landmark like the Trocadero. The service was unremarkable, and the overall atmosphere felt completely standard—certainly not a high-end experience that would warrant prices this high. It feels like they are deliberately preying on tourists who don't check the prices beforehand or who are simply too tired to argue. You have been warned. Do yourself a favor and walk a few extra minutes away from this major landmark to find a café that offers fair and honest pricing. Avoid this establishment unless you want to feel scammed.

So we saw this place across from trocadero so decided to try it out. It was early in the evening so there was no wait for a table near the window. We did wait a while compared to other Parisian restaurants to get served but didn’t dwell on it. We ordered pizza for our two young children along with soups, charcuterie and entrees for us. Those arrived along with our juices. While eating this my 6 year old daughter accidentally knocked her juice over for which she was scolded. I apologetically told the server that my daughter had spilled the juice and asked for something to wipe the table and floor with. He was visibly annoyed, walked away and came back with four (4) napkins. There was a lot of juice on the floor and so I opened the napkin and placed it over the spilled juice which would also prevent my 5 year old from slipping in the area. We also did notice that the server wasn’t as chatty with us when compared to other tables. Since we had used all of the napkins on the spilled orange juice we requested a couple more when our server returned with our entrees. This very polite request for two (2) more napkins set off our server. Instead of just going and grabbing the napkins, he stopped in his tracks, pointed to the floor and rudely stated that we had used the extra napkins on the floor. There were a lot of tables around us who saw this behaviour. He walked away and did bring back two (2) more napkins. We asked for the manager at that point and told him what happened and that we had never been treated so rudely and it was especially worse since it was over TWO (2) napkins. At that point the manager decided that he couldn’t speak a lick of English and started speaking in only French, picked up the napkins off the floor and then walked away leaving us dumbfounded as we were not expecting this disregard from the manager. Not once did I see the manager act apologetic or even say sorry in French (Pardon). We then left the 40€ worth of food untouched on the table and had to walk around to find someone for our bill/cheque. We were ignored for a good few minutes and finally someone acknowledged us and the same manager came over and gave us the full bill/cheque with the 40€ of food included. We paid the whole thing and reiterated our disgust at being treated badly over TWO (2) napkins. We also left US dollars for the extra napkins to prove our point at how pathetic the situation and server was. Also, the female toilets did not have any toilet paper and were filthy - urine on the toilet seats and floor. I had to Lysol the toilet before using and the bottom of my shoes afterwards. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN OR ARE OF A DIFFERENT ETHNIC BACKGROUND. Yes, I said it because this is exactly what I felt happened. We are Americans who are ethnically Indian. We are also a PhD and engineer so know this behavior when we see it. And we were controlling our children and not running around wild because they were quietly using kids apps...

One star because lack of service and sub par food. If you care you read why, my story is below.

Came here for a late dinner after visiting the Eiffel Tower. Chose the place because they offer a set menu for €20 “Express menu” I believe was the name on the menu. I do not know that their definition of express is but I do not believe it is the same as mine. We sat down at the restaurant at just before 9:30pm. Ordered our food, given the choices available on the menu. Water was literally just “dropped off” at our table, no acknowledgement, just walked over with bottle of water and plopped it on our table and walked away.

We ordered soup and tomato salad for entrees and flank steak and Bolognese spaghetti for main. Server did not ask how we like our steak done and walked off after we told him our orders. Soup and salad was mediocre except it took quite awhile before we got it. Considering both did not require much preparation we were surprised how long it took. Mains arrived, steak was over done and the side of fries were also dry. Spaghetti was not cooked al dented enough, still hard and both dishes took just as long to arrive at our table. Finally the espresso at the end of the meal is the only thing I can compliment on although the two cups were not filled to the same amount.

During the whole meal our server did not check up on us once and when he did have to come and clear our table to bring us our next dishes he looked miserable and did not want to serve us at all. I do not understand if we did something wrong to upset him becuase we are tourists and not locals. But if you would like to take the risk of having bad service and food then I will...

Leaving a review for the first EVER as they have earned it by their rude behavior!

Over last weekend, I stopped by their restaurant as I needed help with my mobile charging. Due to the 35-40 temperature in Paris, my mobile was draining much quicker. I requested them to charge it and they very eagerly agreed to it.

However, a few minutes later they expected me to order something so I agreed to get a croissant but they were finished as breakfast time was over. The waiter left and came back again and asked me to order again.

I had recently eaten and did not want to order anything else so I politely told them that I only wanted to order a croissant and charge my mobile. Since you don't have a croissant I won't eat anything else as I have recently eaten my breakfast as well. The waiter got angry with me that you will just charge your mobile and leave? I said yes!

He said, no I will return your mobile and asked me to leave.

This was utmost embarrassing but reflected the selfish, money looting attitude they have. No regards for human respect and help. I only wondered how considerate they be in making sure they serve good quality food to humans that dine at their restaurant as clearly they don't have any respect for others! The other 1 star reviews here indeed endorse my claim so please read them before you finalize this restaurant for a meal.

However, I went to the restaurant next to them, Le Malakoff. I told them beforehand that I needed help but will not be ordering anything else. They very respectfully let me charge my mobile!

Because of their super kind attitude I ordered créme brulee which was...
