Unfortunately we had bad experience. Bathroom was not at all clean for the duration of our stay. We paid $219 USD per night for 3 nights. This is nothe cheapest of hotels..
We’ve stayed here before in the advertised rooms, but this time we had to have a room that looks over the yard (this room is not on the hotel pictures) supposedly due to needing a rollaway for our 10 year old daughter.
The room is small, which we are okay with, but heavily outdated, which has put a damper on our entire stay and on our child’s first impression of Paris. Bathroom is not clean at all. See pictures.
Staff is very friendly, they speak English too. Location cannot be better. But why do I have to be the one to tell the hotel that they need to clean the room and the bathroom?
The room is also recirculating all kinds of smells. This is an old building. Which would be easier to overlook if the room was clean.
Honestly I was looking forward to staying at our favorite hotel, and now I think we need to find another hotel when we return to Paris.
Price I mentioned above does NOT include breakfast. Plus, we paid 30€ per day for the rollaway + daily tax. During our previous stays we liked the rooms, but not this time.
Also, the big bed (not the rollaway) in the room is not a Queen size bed, feels like a double bed. My husband is 6’ 3” and I am 5’ 11” - that bed is too tight for sleeping well 😞.
I am amending my review. The hotel refunded a portion of what we paid after complaining to the Esprit de France customer service. We ended up paying $150 + tax per night after the refund. They apologized and said they are working with the staff to clean up the room and such. Adding a few stars back...
Read more60 yr old couple. Chose this hotel, which was on the back end of a river cruise, for its proximity to Louvre and Notre Dame and wasn't crazy expensive. Staff at front desk were excellent. Check in was easy on a Tuesday morning. No others checking in. Room not ready, held out bags. Had a honors bar/drink sitting area off the lobby. Also had a computer set up for use should you need it. Called my cell when room was ready. When we returned they had already put our bags in our room, nice! Typical European elevator for these type hotel. just fits 2 people. Room was decent. had everything you could want. bed comfortable. Bathroom very small in room we had on 2nd floor. I just barely fit in the small confined area where the toilet was located in the Bathroom. This room had a Tub/shower combo. be ware if you are older and have stability issues the tub is High to step into. they do have other bathroom configurations as the front desk staff mentioned at check in so be sure to check with them on this. Also tub has 1/2 glass wall as shower curtain so water gets everywhere. shower set up was good, hand held nozzle, good water pressure and hot water. sink area ok. decent lighting through the bathroom and room. no real 'view' at 2nd floor level as situated amongst other buildings of similar height. walking distant to Nrotre Dame and across street from Louvre. 3 blocks away from a happening neighborhood with bars and restaurants a plenty. all in with taxes was around 300 for the night. would recommend just be ware of bathroom...
Read moreI cannot say enough about this hotel. I did a lot of research on hotels in Paris, and I kept coming back to this one. Our stay was absolutely amazing. The location is perfect, across from the Louvre. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The lobby has free water and ice, croissants. They have family games to borrow, and umbrellas for those romantic occasions of rainy Paris days. The rooms were lovely, very comfortable, quiet and roomy for a European hotel. Including a small bar fridge with water, Coke and a small wine and champagne, plus a tray of chips/crisps and a small Toblerone.||The cleaning staff were exceptional, quick, thorough and efficient, never missed a single detail . We had a two room unit and the set up was perfect. There is a main door that leads to two full bedrooms. There is a menu for a breakfast for delivery to your room for a time of your choosing for the next morning (we didn’t use this service, so I cannot comment) which I thought was an amazing offering since there is no restaurant on site. There is also a computer and printer in the lobby, we didn’t need it, but good to know it was there if we did. ||We did eat at the cafe on the opposite side of the building, called Cafe du Arts facing the Siene and the world famous bouquinistes “green boxes” for unique shopping, also made this location spectacular.||I will recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Paris. You will not be...
