Some places are more than just a restaurant; they’re a feeling, a memory, a story. For me, KONG Paris is one of those places. Over a decade ago, a dear friend who lives and works in the city of light introduced me to this magical spot. Now, after all this time, I’ve had the joy of returning for my fourth visit, and I’m thrilled to report that it's as spectacular as I remember.
As soon as you step out of the elevator, you're greeted by a truly audacious and unique space. The genius of designer Philippe Starck is on full display, with its fusion of Japanese pop art and classic French aesthetics. The iconic Louis Ghost chairs with their whimsical illustrated faces immediately set a playful, chic tone. But the true masterpiece is the glass-domed rooftop. It’s a space that feels both futuristic and timeless, offering a breathtaking, 360° view of the Paris skyline. From the windows, you can gaze upon the Pont Neuf, the Seine, and the stunning architecture of the city, all while feeling completely enveloped in this luxurious, sky-high bubble.
The food, much like the view, is simply impeccable. The flavors are bright, unexpected, and utterly satisfying.
The Duck Spring Rolls are my absolute favourite. These aren’t just any spring rolls; they’re the kind that make you close your eyes and say “hmm” with pure delight. The crispy exterior and flavourful filling are a perfect 10/10.
My friend chose the Kong Tuna Crispy Rice, and it was beautifully prepared. Though it was slightly oily, the flavours were perfectly balanced, a solid 9.5/10.
The dish that truly captured my heart was the Japanese Lobster Spaghetti. The blend of sweet lobster and a subtle sour note was a truly harmonious and surprising combination, a definite 9/10.
My friend, a self-proclaimed miso fanatic, ordered the Chicken with Ginger Miso and Eggplant Confit. She declared it a "solid 8/10," a sentiment I wholeheartedly agree with.
For the grand finale, we indulged in two desserts. The 2000 Feuilles from Pierre Hermé was a divine masterpiece, a showstopper that deserves an 11/10.
We also shared the Carrément Chocolat, another Pierre Hermé creation that was rich and delicious, a well-deserved 9/10.
The service was fantastic attentive and welcoming without being intrusive. While the bathrooms could use a little extra love, it’s a minor detail that's easily forgiven when everything else is so exceptional.
Our phones were charging after a trip to the Champagne region, so we couldn’t capture the culinary moments in photos, but maybe that made the experience even more memorable. It was a happy ending to a perfect meal, a beautiful new chapter in my ongoing love affair with KONG. The images here are from my previous visit, Just to share my loyalty to this restaurant group. I also love Mis Kó the sister...

My partner and I had a reservation at 21:00 for two people on the 23th of august. When arriving we're told to take a seat at the bar first because the table probably wasn't ready yet.
No problem at first because it was a saturday night and probably busy. However, as the evening went on my partner and I started to realize we were about to experience a big mess.
The whole bar & lounge section was full of other guests waiting on their table. As we started to look around, people must have been waiting for over an hour before they were eventually seated.
After waiting for more than a hour and 15 minutes we were taken to our table. Two things immediately stood out:
We were not the only guests who had this experience as we were looking around and the majority of people sitting were looking frustrated and were trying to get attention from the waiter.
This really disappointed us, as were were celebrating the birthday of my partner. But the experience has been really really bad. As for the food, we decided to just stick with the yellowtail carpaccio, duck spring rolls and tuna crispy rice. Mediocre at best.
We refused to order more and spend more money on this place because of the really bad experience and nonchalant posture of the servers.
Simply said: they just don't care, were even laughing in the back room with each other after guests complained.
And the crazy thing is, they ask premium prices for their food and beverages and even dare to ask 80,- euro per person if you don't show up.
How do you dare to ask Loro Piana prices but offer...
Read moreThe worst tourist trap ever…and we are not tourists! We planned to dine at Kong for a while and therefore I booked it after our engagement, which I also mentioned during the booking. We arrived, the door man was busy chatting to the voiturier, same as when we left by the way!
The hostess upstairs had no smile, maybe something happened to her…! The maitre was very nice though and therefore we thought we would be taken care of!
We sat down and got an introduction from the waiter. Till then all went well!
…50 minutes later I had to nearly stand up to get the attention. By then most of the tables who arrived even after us had finished the dinner nearly! A lady took our order without explaining the dishes or asking for allergies. I mentioned during the reservation the nut allergy, but no recognition!
The only thing we received was a rude excuse after complaining to another waiter which I had again to call over. The reply was rude…like an old French waiter…terrible, start giving proper costumer service!
The food was prepared wrongly and we had to return it! Anyways there wasn’t any taste to it so it didn’t matter.
Looking at the atmosphere, it was great. Even though I mentioned that we had an engagement, our seating neighbor was a single diner. Not very smart looking at the seating plan and floor plan.
Once we finished, we waited for the bill as the waiter was busy taking pictures, plus nobody came to ask how it was, no manager around. At the door, we waited another 20 minutes for the jackets…by the way the hostess still didn’t had a smile and the door man still talked to the voiturier!
As we both work in this industry, the issue is definitely at the core. Either you come for the view...
