I had high expectations for Le Tout and wish that I could report that they were met but, alas… In hindsight I think it is possible that there was some sort of staffing problem b/c the cocktail and wine service was completely off. About 10 minutes after we were seated, ( and one of our party was given a dirty napkin) the server, who I think was the sommelier, took cocktail orders from the women at the table. The men asked for a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine which they intended for us to have with dinner, but also wanted to order cocktails. Before they could say that he darted off quickly in the other direction. When a different server came to the table a few minutes later to take our dinner order, we told her that the gentleman would like to order cocktails. She simply smiled and said I’m here only for your food order. She did not offer to get the right person or help with the problem. It’s possible that she then did tell the sommelier that we wanted cocktails but it was hard to know. In fairness to the somm, he was completely run off his feet as the restaurant was crowded. I actually saw him wipe his brow because he was sweating and hurrying back-and-forth from one end of the large restaurant to the other. Anyway, about 10 minutes after the interaction with the food server, we flagged the somm down and asked if we could place a cocktail order for the gentleman. He said he would come right back to us and he did. But by the time the men got their cocktails, we had asked two people if we could please order cocktails, and had probably been in the restaurant for 30 minutes . After dinner, we had a strange problem with the wine that we had ordered. The bottles were not on or near our table, but rather were across the room, which was fine except that after the meal we looked across the room and noticed that our bottle was still a third full and our glasses were completely empty. We had to ask twice if we had finished all of the wine and when we did they poured for us. I guess that if we had not noticed that we had wine left, we would have ended it up just leaving it there? Food was inconsistent. Our entrées. (starters) were delicious but the two fish dishes we had (Dover Sole and Seabass) were room temperature and just okay. The Seabass was not well cooked and the Dover Sole was bland. It’s my husband‘s favorite and he had eaten it at a couple of bistros where it was better. The pork was very good. The place is beautiful and the views stunning and we had a very nice evening in...
Read moreI rediscovered this rooftop restaurant after a while, and it turned out to be an incredibly satisfying dining experience. Although I usually enjoy wine with my meal, there are places where, if you don’t order drinks, the staff clearly show their displeasure because it affects sales. However, at this restaurant, the staff were polite and respectful from start to finish, which made it a rare and truly enjoyable experience with fine dining.
We started with a welcome snack that had a lovely contrast—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a fresh taste that stood out. The bread came with butter that was so perfectly salty and rich, I was tempted to ask where they got it from—it was exactly my style.
With such a strong start, we were excited for the starters and mains we had ordered. The langoustine dish—Langoustine vivant et girolles et chanterelles (€49)—was beautifully presented, with vibrant colours and charming plating on a gorgeous plate I wanted to take home! The only slight letdown was the sauce—it could have used a bit more nuttiness to bring out the best in the dish.
The sea bass and lamb dishes were visually stunning, with thoughtful plating and creative touches like round slices of courgette and a lovely yellow ingredient in the sauce. The whole presentation felt detailed and playful, and I was genuinely sad to see the food disappear as we ate. The lack of any fishy smell made it all the more perfect. The only downside was that the lamb portion felt a bit small. A few days earlier I had a tough and disappointing lamb dish elsewhere, but this one was tender, flavourful, and came with a sauce that felt almost comforting—like it was making up for that past experience.
Originally, we hadn’t planned to order dessert as we weren’t that hungry, but one of my friends insisted—and it turned out to be delicious. After seeing the desserts at the table next to us, we even considered ordering more, wondering if we could manage despite being full. I’m usually not one for desserts, and often just take one bite to satisfy my curiosity, but this time I decided to wait for another visit and end the meal on a high note—with a great view and even better service.
The prices are higher than at a typical restaurant, but for the view, the quality of the service, and the food itself—I would definitely...
Read moreToday, I had the pleasure of dining at what I can confidently say is one of the finest restaurants I’ve ever experienced: LE TOUT, PARIS- not only in Paris but among all the renowned establishments I’ve visited globally. From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. Every detail of the décor is meticulously thought out, inspiring you to rise to the occasion and look your absolute best. It’s a place where you don’t just dine—you immerse yourself in an experience.
The service is nothing short of impeccable. From the gracious welcome to the attentive care throughout the meal, every interaction makes you feel like royalty. Guillén, the manager—whose name I believe I caught correctly—set the tone for an unforgettable experience. His attentiveness and genuine warmth were echoed by every member of the staff. Their collective effort exemplified perfection.
The setting itself is breathtaking, with views that rival the finest postcards of Paris. But as mesmerizing as the ambiance is, the food manages to steal the spotlight. Each dish was a masterpiece, from its stunning presentation to the intricate layers of flavor that unfolded with every bite. It was a symphony of taste that justified every euro spent.
What made the experience even more memorable were the thoughtful gestures. When an additional dessert appeared at our table as a complimentary offering from Guillén, I mentioned in passing that we were celebrating my birthday. Moments later, Guillén returned with another surprise—a candlelit dessert accompanied by a bag where I found a personalized chocolate box, a gesture that made me feel incredibly special. To top it all off, he graciously gave us a personal tour of the neighboring restaurant and showed us to what might be the best view of Paris I’ve ever seen.
This restaurant is now firmly placed in my top five high-end dining experiences, and that’s no small feat considering my culinary adventures around the world. Guillén and his team have created something truly extraordinary, and I assured him I would return. If you’re looking for perfection in food, service, and atmosphere, this is an...
