Came across it while sheltering from the rain. I saw the reviews and was really worried. However it’s not as bad as they say. The waiter is indeed unpleasant and most annoyingly sarcastic.. I think they are used to tourists and don’t care about returning customers.. This king of service is typical in Paris especially when the staff is made of non-immigrant French workers who are entitled by the socialist system and don’t care about tips. We had a salad and a soup aux oignons, honestly they were good.. the Auvergnard Salad was generous with a good amount of ham, Cantal and Blue Cheese. My daughter had eggs and they were VERY tasty. The place is run down but charming; your typical French Bistrot and the location is nice by the famous Pont Neuf. Bathroom is NOT that bad and I did not smell sewage as someone reported.

I have to do a couple of things about this place, not necessarily it's all bad, but could be better. First thing is the customer service is a bit tough and rough, i understand i went on a very busy day, and late afternoon, but still, i think it can improve. Second thing, i ordered natural orange juice and a Chocolate Mousse, the juice was ok, but the Mousse seemed to be in the fridge for a long time, it was hard in structure and in the paladar. I asked for a coffee and i had to wait for around 25 minutes because i had to continually ask for it, it seems they forgot. I asked for a glass of water and they brought a not very clean glass. The taste and quality of the things I've tried here are not even close to the price i paid for them. The view of the Cafe is nice, but this is the only thing they are charging.

Avoid this place!!!! Impossible to eat! Trap for tourists! Experience = 0. The guy is mistaken all of the time. Nothing was delicious. Instead of "well-done" we received raw meat and burger. Raw pizza. Even the drinks are disgusting. People next to us refused to eat their sakads...how bad should you be to make an awful salad. We ordered medium beer and glass of wine. We received big beer (obviously counted to pay) and wine was not better than water. Entrecôte very fat, without taste and spices. Chicken was dry and tasteless. They serve the dishes in the broken plates, and the glasses are scratched and dirty. Place is old, dirty and not professional. For all of that disgusting things they counted 100€.

Ordered a chicken club sandwich which arrived with cold French fries. Sent back for hot fries to lichen but came back some warm with others cold. I was hungry so I figured I’ll deal with it until I took a bite of the sandwich. Bread was so stale it crumbled and was breaking up. I did not eat the sandwich. It took 15 minutes to get my waiter’s attention and complained to him. (My wife’s omelet was okay.) When I requested the check, I explained to the waiter I didn’t want to be charged for my inedible meal and he indicated that he would take care of it. He took my credit card and I thought he would remove the sandwich from the bill because I complained about it and did not eat it. 10 minutes later he comes back with the bill unchanged, explained that the cook yelled at him and he charged the entire bill. I asked the waiter why I’m being charged. He said the cook who made the sandwich said no. That’s it. At that point I went to a man behind the bar who someone indicated he was the manager and seemed to know about my problem. He said that since you paid for it there’s nothing that can be done. I stated that doesn’t make sense the waiter charged it erroneously. The manager went to the register took out 5 euros and gave it to me and said something to the effect of “now go back to where you came from”. I told him loudly that was an insult and pushed the money back at him and left. The sandwich was 15 euros or so but the point is this place is a poorly run establishment with rude management and is a tourist trap that serves subpar food and will not correct its mistakes. TOURIST....

Quiet, cozy place. The staff were quite relaxed, ready to close for the day, as we went in quite late, at about 10 pm. The quality of food was ok, nothing exclusive as I had expected from the looks of the cafe. Beware of what you order and what is repeated as your order. We ordered the spaghetti bolognese and the Croque Madame (sandwich with cheese, ham and eggs). But when the order was repeated, a 'batata fritte' (french fries) was included. When we checked with the waiter, he dismissed it saying it's a side order and not to worry. But when we were presented with the bill, we were being charged €4 for it. A bottle of water cost us €6, and this was the only cafe that charged us for water! They couldn't accept a card payment as their card reader was not working and we had to pay cash. We felt cheated when we left the place. Overall a pricey affair for not...

If you want a true Parisian dining experience come to this place. Terrible customer service, poor quality food, and lazy Parisian waiters whining about English speakers. Its everything you expect from a terrible Paris restaurant experience. Im only sad that they didnt accept the Museum Pass because it would have been worth it to not have to pay for the one hour wait for a stale croissant and a ham and cheese sandwich of worse quality than McDonalds.

The key to a place like this is to NOT speak some French to them. The common misconception is to try at least. No. Dont do that. Speak English very loudly to them and make it clear you have not learned any French nor do you intend to. I foolishly ordered in French and still got the lousy customer service and terrible food. But it would have been much better if I loudly badgered...
