Excellent value hotel in the 8th arrondissement- great location near major station (St Lazare) as well as abundance of other metro stops, restaurants and shop. Rooms are basic but done to a good standard.
We had room No55 on 4th floor- couldn't fault, beds were probably the most comfortable we've slept on of all trips in Europe we've travelled too!
Super large bathroom with excellent water pressure.
We had the added bonus of having a balcony in room- outside street noise was no issue when windows were closed.
Room was also equipped with AC which worked well, TV (french channels only but no issue as who on earth comes to Paris to watch TV!?!) and a convenient small fridge.
We did have a brief experience of the mentioned cigarette smell come via the vent system one evening. It did not last long and did not present too much of an issue but then again this may need to be considered if you have kids or health conditions. It was not strong but one could certainly smell it.
We did not have breakfast but this was offered by staff at €9 a night- however no disrespect to the hotel but again this is Paris, and you have some excellent boulangeries dotted all a few mins walk away!
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Overall this was a good stay in Paris and I found little or no fault with our stay here as for what we paid this presented good value for money.
Will certainly shortlist this hotel again when I return and will certainly recommend to anyone after a well located, well run hotel for a good price by...
Read moreThe room is basic but big. There is no safe provided and been told by staff that it is super safe and they have camera everywhere.
However, encounter terrible experience last day of our stay. We stayed here for 4 night and the very last night, receptionist told us that we have to pay additional 10 euro as we did not pay enough to the room on first night check in. Upon check in, we hand 750 euro to the receptionist and he told us how much the room is total for 4 nights and hand back change. Then we left. Hotel has four days to figure out if he gave wrong change but nothing heard from them until last night. We want them to provide us evidence that receptionist gave wrong change such as camera and video on that night since it has been four days. The guy on desk said I’m working here 25 years and it has never been wrong and you need to pay. Then he hands me a hand written note explaining what happened on first night and request me to sign on final bill to ensure we do not dispute or disagree that there is 10 euro missing. I then said I will keep the note but he responded rude and saying it’s French and my writing, you are not allowed to take. I rely, if you request me and accuse me short of 10 euro, I have the right to keep it and even it’s French, I can use translator app to figure out what’s going on with your explanation.
Clearly it tells this hotel is lack of cash handling policy and don’t really think it’s safe place to stay if internally they cannot figure out and...
Read moreThe location is great! Very close to all the attractions. The room wasn’t ready, so we waited for 2 hours. At least we were offered to leave the luggage. The bathroom door I doesn’t lock. There are dirty yellow wallpapers in the corner. The doors are making terrible noise while being opened. The cleaning lady were opening the doors for 5 minutes to wake me up around 8-8:30, then she apologised and left. Later, the receptionist call me to ask if we need cleaning, when I said yes (the bath is leaking, so towels are wet), he said I need to be outside, so no cleaning for me. When we asked for another key, as one of us were going to come back later, they said that there is only one key on the reception and has to always be left there. When my friend came back to the room before me, he was offered to put a shoe to keep the door open while he brings back the key to leave for me at the reception. We had other weird situations, but it would be too much to write on the review.
I would recommend the hotel for its location, but the customer service definitely...
