Chez Léon — Restaurant in Paris

I enjoyed Garcon. We arrived early and the hostess politely requested we wait for the rest of our party before being seated. Sure! We grabbed a space at the bar and the bartender poured us a glass of wine on the house as we discussed various dessert wines.

First off, the dining room is warm and charming. I really liked the ambiance as soon as I walked in. Sat at a cozy corner table and basked in the wonderful service. Our server was extremely helpful with recommendations.

Started off with the French Onion soup. Not as good as Chez Maman, but quite yummy. I'd order it again. As the main, I had the salmon which I thought was prepared nicely. Tender and meaty, not dry at all. We were totally wowed by the Floating dessert. I'm a chocolate kinda girl, but our server went on and on about this dessert. Nothing like it. Similar to a meringue floating in a sweet soup/sauce. It doesn't sound that great, appetizing, or even worth ordering, but we couldn't keep our spoons to ourselves.

I know...I should be able to read French, but I can't. Would be nice to have a few things translated rather than using the phone to try to translate the page(s) of the menu. But, we had a very nice dinner after a long day out on the town sight seeing. The fries are amazing! The sausages were plentiful. Beers were very tasty. Overall a great little shop to enjoy food and people watching. Outside seating always busy as we passed daily. A little warm inside so try to sit outside if...

Aux vues des avis dithyrambiques je suis perplexe. En voyant "Routier", je me suis tout de suite référé à ce que j'ai pu connaître il y a quelques années sur les routes de France et je suis entré sans me poser de questions. C'est rustique, assez bruyant et on se marche un peu dessus mais pas de soucis avec ça, c'est dans l'esprit. J'avais en tête une cuisine simple, mais savoureuse et généreuse. La simplicité était bien là, mais pour le reste... À 13h30 les cuisines avaient déjà été dépouillées, je me suis donc rabattu sur un steack à cheval. Un premier steack haché est arrivé cru (au passage, on ne m'avait pas demandé quelle cuisson je voulais) avec un oeuf à cheval au jaune éclaté. On me l'a changé sans problème, pour un steack haché surcuit (on ne m'avait toujours pas demandé la cuisson). Sur trois desserts, un seul fait maison (la tarte aux pommes), les autres (tarte myrtille et citron) étant annoncés faits chez un pâtissier du coin. J'ai eu à l'arrivée une tarte aux myrtilles à la pâte détrempée. Bref ; un steack à cheval frites sans intérêt, une tarte aux myrtilles médiocre, un demi et un café, le tout pour 28,90 le compte n'y est pas. Reste un serveur qui, s'il ne demande pas les cuissons, était poli et sympathique, c'est à noter mais ça ne suffira pas à me...
