A Culinary Gem with a Heart. Dining out can be just a meal or it can be a moment you treasure. My recent experience at this extraordinary restaurant, shared with my son, was the latter. From the moment we stepped in, the evening unfolded into a tapestry of exceptional cuisine, warm hospitality, and genuine joy.
We began with the octopus and salad, a duo that set the tone for the night. The octopus was tender and delicately charred, resting on a bed of vibrant, fresh ingredients that brought out its natural flavor. The salad wasn’t just a side it was a perfectly composed bite of freshness and balance. Every forkful felt intentional.
For our mains, we ordered the beef fillet and the duck and they were nothing short of extraordinary. The beef was melt in your mouth tender, cooked to perfection, and infused with bold yet nuanced flavors that seemed to dance between classic French technique and rich South American soul. The duck, equally impressive, had a crisped skin that gave way to succulent meat, accompanied by sauces and sides that elevated the dish without overpowering it. Each plate was a celebration of craftsmanship, heritage, and imagination.
But as remarkable as the food was, what made the night truly special was the service. The team was gracious and attentive, but it was Maria who truly stole our hearts, sweetest Lady in France. She has a warmth and sincerity that instantly makes you feel at home. Maria isn’t just excellent at what she does she’s one of those rare people who make you feel seen, appreciated, and cared for. Her attentiveness, gentle humor, and kindness added a deeply human touch to an already stellar evening.
In a country known for its culinary excellence, this place manages to shine even brighter not just because of the food, but because of the people who make it come alive. It’s not every day you find a restaurant that delights your palate and lifts your spirit.
Highly, highly recommended. A must visit for anyone who appreciates flavor, heart, and...
Read moreI was disappointed with our experience here considering all of the great reviews!
I’m sure the chef is very good and the quality of ingredients are excellent - Yes, the food was nice - but in no way was it amazing or superior to any other decent restaurant in the area we had eaten at during our trip.
Unfortunately our experience was soured before we even got our food - We waited 25 mins after being seated (we had a reservation) before even having a drinks order taken. It seemed that the waiter was a bit stressed trying to get around the tables to everyone, and the manager wasn’t doing much, or rather - nothing at all, to help!
The mussels to start were surprisingly TINY and made for very little eating (if you’re British or Spanish you’ll be used to large mussels the size of your finger) these ones were very small and 5 or 6 in the bowl remained unopened. Considering it was a small bowl to begin, this didn’t leave many to eat! (For 17 euros…) The sauce was tasty, but underwhelming.
The lamb main was fine - it was soft but looked severely anaemic - almost grey - it had no colour at all! Cooked medium rare (And we all know, “No colour, no flavour” according to Gordon Ramsey!)
The veal again, was fine, it was soft and clearly of excellent quality, but the accompaniment of creamed potatoes was underwhelming.
There’s no option of other sides or anything additional to your meal, apart from bread…which is fine…if the meal is balanced enough to warrant that, however, under no circumstances should I be left to “fill myself up” with bread to compensate for a small and overpriced meal.
(For reference, We are used to fine dining and have eaten in some of the best restaurants in London, Paris, New York etc)
My husbands a big guy and left still feeling hungry (and having to eat again an hour or so later!)
All in all, it was “meh” and we wouldn’t go back…shame, as i know a lot of people have reviewed it...
Read moreMy husband and I joined friends for dinner at Milagro last weekend and we have not stopped thinking about it ever since. For reference, we live in Paris and eat out often.
Milagro is unique, in the best possible ways. The space itself is warm and inviting, while still feeling sophisticated. The food is stunning in it's simplicity, freshness and creativity. They've managed to bring different ingredients to the menu, while making them approachable.
We started with the courgette jaune and croquettes (I forget what they are called), then moved to the duck and celery root for main courses. I have a lot of experience with vegetarian cuisine, and the celery root was by far the best vegetarian dish I've ever had. EVER. It was slow roasted for a carmelized exterior and sat in a healthy smear of herbed sauce. I've never had celery root, or anything like it, and needless to say I cleaned my plate. I don't know how I'll go back and order anything else, it was that good.
For dessert, my husband chose panacotta and I had the apple tart with burnt honey ice cream. The apple tart was absolutely beautiful- thinly carved apple in the center of the pastry which was light and not too sweet. The burnt honey ice cream was a standout. I don't even like honey, but the flavor of this ice cream was something I've never experienced before...warm, deep in flavor, almost a little carmelized. It was insanely good! As for the panacotta, well, my husband ordered a second if that tells you anything about how much he enjoyed it.
We loved having food to choose from that wasn't what we see on many other menu's around the city. We loved dining in such a beautiful, warm space, with a view of the chef's working in the kitchen (glass front kitchen). The servers were lovely...all spoke French and English with ease, and seemed genuinely delighted to take care of us. The entire experience...
