We were an engaged young couple, visiting Paris, and this hotel was perfect! If you are like us, where we were visiting a lot of cultural centers, walking around the city, or doing some shopping, the location cannot get any better! We were being economical conscious as well, and this hotel has some great room options. I'll break down the pros/cons of it too!
Pro The service is absolutely the best thing about this place. The front desk was extremely helpful in a lot our questions. From recommending where to eat, to calling a taxi for us, and giving us advice on when to arrive to the airport / printing out tickets. The service really impressed us! The location is amazing! It was our first time in Paris, and we hadn't been, so we got some advice to stay around this area. It's very convenient in terms of getting everywhere Paris through the metro. It has a ton of theatres, cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. If you are visiting some of the major museums like the Lourve, notre dame, or walking the cannal, they are a 15 min walk away. It is also quieter at night, so it's easy to get a nights sleep. It's also in the Latin/St-Germain area and that's a good spot to be in! They offer a standard breakfast in the mornings with croissants, meats/cheeses, yogurt, and cereal. If you book through their hotel website, it only cost 5 euro per person if you decide to eat there. Extremely convenient if you get up early and are in a hurry. It's nothing fancy, but it was delicious and having this options was fantastic! I was researching hotels around June/July of 2022, to stay at the hotel in mid-August 2022. August is the busy season, and so I was looking at a lot of nearby hotels. The prices were high since it was late in the season to book hotels, but Left Bank had the best prices in the area for the same type of hotel room. Others were on average 30-40% more. This hotel has exceptional service, an amazing location, and it has great prices compared to the other options nearby. That's all you need to make a decision and choose this location. I'll go over the Cons below, but they are heavily out weighed by the Pros.
Con The rooms are on a smaller scale than we expect in the States. It has a beautiful layout and design, but you aren't going to have a lot of wiggle room when you select their cheapest option. Other options are more sizable, but it becomes at a similar price for a basic hotel room in the area. Also, it's important to note that for someone from the USA visiting Europe for the first time, hotels in the capital and in the hot spots, rooms tend to get smaller. This can be a benefit too. It's at the lower end of the Latin quarter, so if you are looking for that immediate vibe of having a hotel in the heart of the Latin quarter, this isn't the location. But the heart is only 3 minute walk away, and at least for us, the location had the right amount of noise, so we preferred being away from the immediate action. The location has a ton of options nearby as well, it's in no means away from shops/cafes, it's that the times square type of vibe is a little bit up the road. There is a night doorman who has to let you in, in case you stay out longer 12/1 am. We only encountered this once, and when we were trying to get into the hotel, we couldn't enter. But then after 3-5 minutes, a night doorman came out, and let us through. @management It's better to ensure people know about this, or else they will think they are locked out of the building in case the night door man isn't...
Read moreThis is an exceptional hotel! It is exactly what it claims and more. Booking a hotel in Paris is overwhelming with so many choices. I had a mini spreadsheet, honestly, helping us to decide which Latin Quarter hotel to choose - they all shared the same location, budget, square footage, and French charm. We were not dissappointed and I am very particular. The Hotel is very charming and well maintained. The location is unbeatable. We walked everywhere. The Hotel is very safe, exceptionally clean, and the STAFF ARE THE HEART OF THE HOTEL. |Rooms: |We booked the standard double room and were in 501. Our room had gorgeous original beams and 2 cute traditional Parisienne windows. Never heard street noise, nor did we hear the elevator despite being next to it. Our son was in 404 in a standard double and room was larger than ours in size but we liked the coziness especially being there in Dec.|The beds and pillows are very comfortable with a top duvet. I prefer duvet's over spreads for hygiene. The rooms are very clean, have shower heads (Nth American style shower/bath combo) and never ran out of hot water. |The rooms are certainly Paris-small but we used the closet and shelves and shuffled a few things and found it very functional. We were never cold with plenty of heat and bedding. Also many places to charge our phones, tablets, etc. |Breakfast:|We were not going to book breakfast but ended up doing so every morning. It was so much easier. There is a nice variety of cheese, fruit, hots, pastries and the coffee is great. Also had freshly squeezed orange juice! All of which is for an unbeatable price. It was a really nice way to start the day.|Lobby and Salon area are very charming and a nice place to sit and have a cognac. |I cannot say enough about the staff. Each were very warm and welcoming and went beyond to help. We were having trouble with the new metro tickets and one staf even loaned us their metro card to load. I am not mentioning names in fear I might accidentally leave someone out. They were all exceptional. Thank you!!!!|My husband and I stayed here for over a week in Dec/24 and without hesitation will book again the next time we are in Paris, and will refer this hotel to our friends and family...
Read moreLocation 5 Stars or better yet, 10 stars! The room is comfortable, and that air-conditioning was spot on! The beds were extremely comfortable, and linen and towels were of nice quality. Bathroom had two sinks and a nice shower. The only thing I would change is the front desk staff, as they are not very friendly. When we checked in, we looked at the room and found that we would have to go up and down a flight of stairs each time. (6nights)! We are three females of age with luggage and one of us just had surgery of the knees. We went back to the desk to ask for a different room and explained the reason why we needed a room with no steps and the gentleman Rishi was not helpful at all refusing to help. Not only was he not helpful, but he was rude and did not handle the situation professionally and We were immediately disappointed in the customer service on the first day. I had to ask for the manager and she was very helpful and accommodating. She quickly found a room for us in 5 mins and we enjoyed the six nights in this hotel. I was a hotel manager for 10 years with Hilton. This would not be acceptable. Perhaps your front desk staff needs more training. They need to smile and have a conversation with the guest to make them feel welcome. It was like pulling teeth to get more than two words out of their mouth and nobody smiled. The lobby is dark and dingy, not very welcoming presentation...
