Worst experience ever. I decided to arrive one day prior to the event I wanted to attend in Paris, as I wanted to be fully energized by having a good sleep. However, it turned out to be a nightmare. After arrival, and check-in I discovered a very penetrating smell in the room, which damaged my respiratory system (I went to a doctor after being back in my home country). Apparently, the acid-like smell was Ammonia gas which came from the fridge/mini bar. I reported it immediately. The hotel staff removed the fridge immediately and offered me drinks "on the house". They said they cannot offer me another room as they were fully booked. However, the penetrating smell remained in the room, and intensified after closing the windows. At midnight, I again reported it to the staff. The answer was: can't you sleep with windows open? You should know that it was windy and approx. 4 degrees Celsius outside during that night. So, no I cannot. They then tried to find another hotel for me, but said it's impossible, especially for the rate I paid. The staff offered me to give me a full refund if I stay in my previous room with the acid-like smell. I was shocked about this..how can you do such an offer to a guest? It is obvious that the acid-like smell, in this case Ammonia gas, creates serious health issues. I declined and asked to move out of this room immediately. Then they offered me another room (somehow, an available room appeared), which was a bigger double room instead of the business room I booked. I moved into the room, only to hear a few minutes later: sorry, you can't stay in this room as it would be an upgrade. Seriously? It was already 1:30 am at that time. Finally, one of the staff said: just go into this room and sleep now. I was in bed by 2 am, had a rather bad feeling sleeping given my experience with the other room and exposure to Ammonia gas. Hence, I didn't sleep well at all, also because of damage to my respiratory system (I had problems breathing, my nose and throat hurt a lot). It is just irresponsible of the hotel staff. Ammonia gas is very dangerous for humans, leading to serious health issues. I am "lucky" the incident happened while I was still awake. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had been in a deep sleep. Conclusion: Never, ever again. Rather spend more for a night in a hotel, but then be safe.

Just an absolutely fabulous stay. They made of feel like welcome guests into their home. Alice and her family run a very warm and comfortable boutique hotel in the heart of the Opera District. They have a great location with short access to the Louvre, shopping, metro subway, and fabulous restaurants. There are a lot of Asian restaurants in the immediate area if that’s your taste. We had a medical emergency Asthma attack in the middle of the night with my daughter. Overwhelming experience to figure where to go at 3am. We were rushing out the front door to find a hospital when the front desk clerk made a suggestion to visit a 24 hour Pharmacy a short Uber ride away. We didn’t have our prescription for the inhaler on us, but the Pharmacist gave it to us anyway, giving my daughter recovery from her attack right away. This is the kind of amazing hospitality that you can expect, whether it be a medical emergency to restaurant and transportation suggestions. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Paris.

We found our stay at Hôtel Baudelaire Opéra to be okay. The best part about the hotel is the location, on a walking distance of the Louvre Museum, the Tuileries Garden and the Place Vendôme and with metro stations nearby. The fact that the reception staff speaks English quite well is an extra plus, especially for a hotel in France. On the other side, the guy at the reception didn’t recommend breakfast at the hotel, which he was right about, since it’s served in the basement of the hotel, without any daylight and not very cosy or pleasant. We had a standard room, which is very small, yet convenient. The interior of the room doesn’t seem changed in 30 or 40 years, but the bathroom seemed newer. One thing we really lacked during our stay beginning of August, was airconditioning. It was very warm in the room, which wasn’t great for our night rest. The fact that poet Charles Baudelaire stayed in the hotel (back then with a different name) in the past is a lovely so-called “faits divers”. 🤩

If you forget your stuff in this hotel, you won’t see it again. I’ve left my leather jacket in the room in this hotel. In the evening when I noticed that the jacket was missing, I called them immediately. The guy told me that is not possible to check it until the morning because the room was occupeid. After the conversation I also sent an e-mail with the same request and details about the jacket. In the morning nobody contacted me so I called them. The lady told me that she read the e-mail and told the stuff to check and will contact me at 11 o’clock. Of course she did not, so I called again. This time she told me she will check it by herself and contact me. Of course she did not, so I had to call again and after my third call I got the first information that my jacket is not in the room. Also she started to ask details about the jacket and I told her that I wrote everything in the e-mail, but this time she told me that she didn’t read the e-mail, opposite of the last conversation. Since it was left in the closet, the person who cleaned the room after me most certainly should find it and bring it to the reception before another person entering the room. The thing is that I went few times in the hotel after check out because I have left my luggage there and since they didn’t mentioned it, after I realised I did not bring it with me, I was sure that won’t see it again. I’ve called several times again and the answear was the same, also asking about the size of the jacket like there were numbers of leather jackets left there. This was very disappointing experince and I would never...

Embarking on a Parisian Dream with my wife, our stay at Hotel Baudelaire Opera was a cherished experience. Nestled in the heart of Paris, this 17th-century gem is more than accommodation; it's a portal to a Parisian dream.

From the calls prior to arriving and Alice listening to my surprise trip plans and giving tips, to the warm embrace upon entry to the historic tales whispered by the building, the atmosphere is enchanting.

What truly sets this hotel apart is the family who runs it – Alice, Laura, David, and Juliette. They embody hospitality at its finest, going the extra mile to ensure our comfort and happiness. Their infectious passion for both the city and the hotel made us feel like honored guests in their Parisian home.

Every detail in the hotel reflects their dedication to creating a memorable experience. The stylish and comfortable rooms provided a haven after our city explorations. The breakfast, a delicious feast in a charming dining room, featured fresh pastries, local cheeses, and hot coffee.

Throughout our stay, the whole family was readily available to offer recommendations, share stories, and help us navigate the city like true locals.

Our stay at Hotel Baudelaire Opera transcended a mere vacation; it was an experience etched in our memories. It showcased the power of human connection and the magic that unfolds when surrounded by passionate individuals creating joy for others.

For an authentic Parisian experience, look no further than Hotel Baudelaire Opera – where you'll discover not just a beautiful hotel but a welcoming family and a Parisian haven that...
