Worst experience ever. I decided to arrive one day prior to the event I wanted to attend in Paris, as I wanted to be fully energized by having a good sleep. However, it turned out to be a nightmare.
After arrival, and check-in I discovered a very penetrating smell in the room, which damaged my respiratory system (I went to a doctor after being back in my home country). Apparently, the acid-like smell was Ammonia gas which came from the fridge/mini bar. I reported it immediately. The hotel staff removed the fridge immediately and offered me drinks "on the house". They said they cannot offer me another room as they were fully booked. However, the penetrating smell remained in the room, and intensified after closing the windows. At midnight, I again reported it to the staff. The answer was: can't you sleep with windows open? You should know that it was windy and approx. 4 degrees Celsius outside during that night. So, no I cannot. They then tried to find another hotel for me, but said it's impossible, especially for the rate I paid. The staff offered me to give me a full refund if I stay in my previous room with the acid-like smell. I was shocked about this..how can you do such an offer to a guest? It is obvious that the acid-like smell, in this case Ammonia gas, creates serious health issues. I declined and asked to move out of this room immediately. Then they offered me another room (somehow, an available room appeared), which was a bigger double room instead of the business room I booked. I moved into the room, only to hear a few minutes later: sorry, you can't stay in this room as it would be an upgrade. Seriously? It was already 1:30 am at that time. Finally, one of the staff said: just go into this room and sleep now. I was in bed by 2 am, had a rather bad feeling sleeping given my experience with the other room and exposure to Ammonia gas. Hence, I didn't sleep well at all, also because of damage to my respiratory system (I had problems breathing, my nose and throat hurt a lot). It is just irresponsible of the hotel staff. Ammonia gas is very dangerous for humans, leading to serious health issues. I am "lucky" the incident happened while I was still awake. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had been in a deep sleep.
Conclusion: Never, ever again. Rather spend more for a night in a hotel, but...
Read moreIf you forget your stuff in this hotel, you won’t see it again. I’ve left my leather jacket in the room in this hotel. In the evening when I noticed that the jacket was missing, I called them immediately. The guy told me that is not possible to check it until the morning because the room was occupeid. After the conversation I also sent an e-mail with the same request and details about the jacket. In the morning nobody contacted me so I called them. The lady told me that she read the e-mail and told the stuff to check and will contact me at 11 o’clock. Of course she did not, so I called again. This time she told me she will check it by herself and contact me. Of course she did not, so I had to call again and after my third call I got the first information that my jacket is not in the room. Also she started to ask details about the jacket and I told her that I wrote everything in the e-mail, but this time she told me that she didn’t read the e-mail, opposite of the last conversation. Since it was left in the closet, the person who cleaned the room after me most certainly should find it and bring it to the reception before another person entering the room. The thing is that I went few times in the hotel after check out because I have left my luggage there and since they didn’t mentioned it, after I realised I did not bring it with me, I was sure that won’t see it again. I’ve called several times again and the answear was the same, also asking about the size of the jacket like there were numbers of leather jackets left there. This was very disappointing experince and I would never...
