If you want to enjoy your meal, DO NOT eat at the upper floor.
As of now, that upper floor is terribly managed (by a young, short brunette with curly hair). She seemed to treat people very differently based on their appearances. The elderly and Asian people seemed to be fine, but she seemed to treat poorly other women that she would consider more attractive than her from societal beauty standards, revealing a blatant insecurity. (I'm a certified psychologist.)
My guest, an American female software engineer who models when she can, politely asked for information about the price of a bottle, to which the female manager answered: "Oh, -you- don't need a bottle". Thus not providing the information but her unwanted personal opinion instead. I wonder if her boss, a welcoming and well-mannered lady, appreciates underselling because of an employee.
Despite knowing from past interactions that my guest only spoke English, and despite hearing her speak perfect English to other tables, she spoke solely in French whenever she serviced ours. I had to translate for my guest, who was voluntarily left out by that "manager". How incredibly rude.
When asking to pay, the "manager", in typical unprofessional fashion, forced herself to burst out laugh saying that she does not take payments. Typically in the US, every payment is done at the table itself. As first time customers (and certainly last time), we were obviously and innocently unaware of this: another chance for this "manager" to show how she doesn't take her profession nor women more attractive than her, seriously.
While the ground floor was well animated and joyous, the upper floor is quiet to the point of overhearing the female "manager" condescendingly teaching new staff. She explained everything so quickly that the poor waiter had to ask three times for the same information, before being mocked: "It's not that complicated", she added. Of course, it's more amusing for her to vomit the information so she can feel superior by repeating it, for once in her life. Her insecurities turned into a poorly played mocking act.
Not a very good look for the establishment nor French service, that already suffers from a despicable reputation worldwide.
I feel bad for the owner, who was a kind and attentive lady, but also for my guest, who had to suffer from the blatant jealousy of a simple waitress/manager who was half her size but triple the ego. I kindly recommend that she uses the services of a fellow psychologist: she must feel very low to need this type of toxic reassurance, attempting to establish fake, shallow superiority by lowly...
Read morei give two stars to this place, because it used to be good. but, another victim of its success, it became worse and worse. we ve been here a lot of times, like 30 or even more.
Let me tell you about last time, that was about 2 weeks ago. We were 3 and ordered 3 meals, i had soop, my wife ordered bbk duck, and unfortunately my friend ordered bbk duck as well. before, they would bring two of bbk duck, but now they learned a trick. they bring you one, and say there is two in there. what you gonna do? argue? tell them that amount of food is same is in one? Obviously not, so we payed for 2 bbk and got 1 basically. gift of 22 euros for owners. you would think that with prices like that its stupid to save on food, but its pure profit, so... lol. (btw, exact same thing happened when we were 6 here before, so its definitely happens all the time) And dont bother giving me answer like "we don't have enough heating things", the restaurant was empty, its was end of service on Sunday lunch.
Vegetables that are supposed to come with bbk and with soop for 3 ppl were saved for better use, cause we did not get a lot of them. 6 tiny plates, 3 of them were same, pouce de soja i think. For 3 ppl. This is just disrespectful lol. they cost 0 money, just bring them.
And the last one, i have asked a guy for a bowl of rise, extra one. Dude never come back, he just vanished=) i think he left the country tbh, cause i cant see why else he would ignore such a simple request otherwise.
i used to bring my friends here, now i wont, its just embarrassing at this point, how bad it became. a shame. you know what, no two stars cause you don't deserve them. again, you used two deserve full 5* before, but something clearly went wrong. btw your declining note is a marker of...
Read moreI recently dined at Guibine with my sister and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff and made to feel right at home. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with beautiful decor that adds to the overall dining experience. The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Korean dishes, and each one we tried was delicious and perfectly prepared. We had the beef bibimbap and pork stew, and they did not disappoint. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the portions were generous. The side dishes (banchan) were also a delightful addition and complemented our meals perfectly. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience. He provided excellent recommendations and was very accommodating to our dietary preferences. Overall, Guibine exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was outstanding, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was delightful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Korean dining experience. We will definitely be...
