Quite centrally located and if you plan to use the room for sleep and are a flexible traveler who wants a cheap room in the heart of the 3rd arrondissement in the middle of where everything is accessible and happening and walkable, this is the place for you. The water temperature and pressure varies from room to room (I was there with a lot of other travellers, in a group with over 20 rooms reserved, so I know all about all the rooms). Some bathrooms are NOT renovated (pink bathrooms) and some ARE renovated (white/cream bathrooms). I recommend asking for a renovated room so as to insure you have a more functional and user-friendly bathroom (think handheld shower head (non reno) versus mounted shower head and/or overhead shower). American travellers tend to be spoiled a bit, alas. The carpet, bedspreads, and curtains are ATROCIOUS -- haven't been updated since the 1970s. But there's a safe in the closets, hangers for clothes, and a tiny desk with a chair in the room, as well as extra pillow and blanket in the small-ish armoire; the beds are firm and there's an elevator! Bonus for the elevator!! I was there in January and it was COLD outside; these rooms have radiators and some of them work overtime to make up for the several that don't work at all, so you'll either get a freezing room (first two nights I slept with hat, scarf, and coats all over my body) or you'll have a sweltering room (last three nights I slept with the window open as wide as it would go with the curtain closed). There are NO TOILETRIES OR SOAPS other than the liquid soap in the shower and by the sink, so don't expect any tiny bottles of anything like shampoo or lotion. The breakfast is nothing special but it will do the job: the croissants are particularly nice and fresh and go well with the cheese, jam, and/or butter provided. The staff at the front desk range from clueless and snobby to fun and helpful, but it would help YOU if you at least tried to speak French (at least at first -- as is typical in France, if you want better customer service, please learn how to say "bonjour," "s'il vous plait," and "merci"). They ought to modernize their booking system, are still using paper and pencil as if it were 1953, and this led to several in my party being assigned rooms and given keys only to find that there was already someone in our group in that room when they arrived up to it with their bags. ||So now you know what to expect. Save money but don't expect to be stimulated or pampered. And avoid a street-facing room if...
Read moreWe had a room on the 6th floor and the 7 person elevator could carry only 2 persons (up & down). We were 3, so each time someone had to take the staris or just wait... Just imagine in full season the waiting time for a lift. Luckily the room's window opened to an inner court so we had quiet. The room ,I could say was as clean as it could be for 2 stars...,the sheets were white and clean. But thats it. The room was kinda old, used and small.Temperature in the room was quite ok. When I went to bed I smelld mold. Also in the bathroom was an unpleasant smell ( like rotten water) . In the bathroom was missing the toilet paper holder and definitly the showerhead holder. I had to shower with one hand holding the showerhead. Breakfast WASN'T INCLUDED !!! For the price of 200 euro / night they asked 12euro/ person for breakfast. That price is as exaggerated as the room price was. But they dont care. There will be always persons who will pay the amount. I booked this place just because of his position in Paris. If You are can lower your expectation and pass through the negativities You're welcome. I cant tell You what they offerd for breakfast 'cause I went out every morning to differnt "boulangerie "to...
