I seldom write reviews but felt I must share my story so everyone can read this before making any bad decision to book this hotel.
I stayed at Hotel Flanelles from Jul 16-18, 2022 and had a terrible experience that I had never had with any other hotels in the world.
Long story short, one of the African cleaning ladies stole my 400 euro sunglasses while I was away for 2 hours from my room. I remember that I was anxious when leaving the room as there wasn't any 'do not disturb' tag that I can hang on my door and the safety box was so small and I couldn't put everything there to keep it safe. I've heard that there are lots of thieves in Paris targeting tourists but as this is hotel not me being on the street, I left the room with less concern. After 2 hours coming back from the gym, I noticed my sunglasses was missing after seeing the cleaning ladies just leaving my room. Right after it happened, at that time I tried to be respectful to the cleaning ladies as I might have left the sunglasses at home but reported to the hotel about the incident and asked for help and been waiting to get help or solution since however, they just have been silent. I am writing this review after coming back to my home country after making sure that I brought the sunglasses to Paris, and the first place I opened my suitcase since I left my home is Hotel Flanelles.
What is really disappointing is, they seemed to be helpful when I was staying at the hotel and arranged to speak to the cleaning ladies. However, as they were keep denying, the hotel advised me to report to the police first which I did and they would discuss how they can provide a refund or whatever they can but since I reported to the police which took about 4 hours to complete, the hotel manager has been ignoring my reach out and blocked me even on whatsapp. I'm frustrated by how irresponsible they are and providing this poor experience and memories to the guests who came with excitement to enjoy their trip and made a choice to stay at Hotel Flanelles among all the other options they could have.
You must be aware that this hotel does NOT provide any ‘do not disturb’ sign or digital button to let others know that you don’t want any visitors. The safety box is extremely small, just enough to put your passport and wallet. The cleaning ladies might not steal your Chanel handbags or Jimmy Choo shoes as it's TOO noticeable but they are more than capable of going through your stuff even inside your suitcase and probably steal small things that are not so noticeable like jewelry or sunglasses.
This happened on my first day 1 in Paris. If you are okay to lose your precious items, feel free to book this hotel otherwise, DO NOT make any mistakes like I did. Hope this is helpful for anyone who's considering Hotel Flanelles as your choice of...
Read moreHad a fantastic stay at Maison Elle a few weeks ago. We were warmly greeted by Flo, who gave us a very thorough rundown of the hotel and area and showed us all the amenities. We were super excited to receive an upgrade from a Premium room to a Junior Suite, which was so wonderful. The room was huge for Paris standards, it had a sitting area, large bed, and huge bathroom with a massive soaker tub. What really got me was all of the little touches - nice toiletries in the bathroom, bidet built in, great espresso machine, and a large counter and great lighting for doing makeup, which is hard to find in hotels in bigger European cities, no pedestal sink here! Everything was clean and gorgeous, and the room was very peaceful and quiet, we didn't hear street noise or other guests at all. We did not have time to use the spa or check out the common areas much, but they did look wonderful. Location is excellent for getting around Paris, it's 2 short blocks (2 minute walk at most) to a huge metro and RER station and from there you can get anywhere easily. Also less than a 5 min walk over to the shops on the Champs-Elysees. I'd say the only thing lacking with the area is a neighborhood feel, it is very touristy being where it is, but we didn't mind that as we were out eating other places and we even appreciated it because there were always people out and about near the hotel, it felt very safe even later at night. They lock the doors after a certain time and you buzz to get in, which is also appreciated, it feels very safe. Overall we had a wonderful stay and can't...
Read moreOur experience at this hotel was absolutely excellent! We were hesitant to book based on other reviews but decided to try this place out anyway. Do not believe the bad reviews! First, this hotel was clean and well put together. We loved the little cafe area in the lobby and the decor throughout. Second, the staff was so friendly and helpful! They made our stay truly memorable and comfortable. We have to mention Pierre who really went above and beyond for us. He made us coffee and croissants to go on the morning we left for the airport even though it was super early. Staff was TOP NOTCH. Third, we absolutely loved the amenities like free coffee/tea and snacks. It was so nice on a rainy day to come back to the hotel and have a hot drink with a piece of cake! Fourth, the area the hotel is located is very safe and within a 5 minute walk to the metro and Big Bus tour stop. There are many cafes and shops near by, including a grocery store at the end of the block where we were able to purchase water and snacks. Overall, we LOVED our stay here and did not want to leave! Perfect hotel in Paris. Also per other reviews, the rooms did have "do not disturb" signs in case you did not want anyone entering the room to clean and their safes were large enough to hold multiple items including sunglasses or a...
