Cozy Hostel — Hotel in Tbilisi

Arriving to Cosy Hostel was nice, we were placed in a 8 bed doorm with only two other guests. The room was full of beds and not much space for your things. As the week went on the room was filled up, and it got very crowded. It was hard to sleep because of the others, the heat or if you opened the window the traffic kept you awake. Most of the staff was also getting a bit annoying as they never asked friendly if you could move when they needed to clean, and always was occupying the best places to hang out in the hostel. We also got a unfriendly comment when we used one of the pots in the kitchen, and all the cleaning made the place unsuitable for allergics since it was a lot of parfume and chemicals used every day. At the end it felt like there was no place inside the hostel where we could spend time except for in our beds. Run by a racist lady at the frontdesk, despite ours being a prebooked deal, she saw us (my husband and I - Indians) and immediately got pissed off, refused to talk to us, spoke only to our Georgian driver (saying what, we had no way to understand). We produced proof of our booking, presented all vouchers to confirm the booking at that hotel itself, but because of our faces and our colour, she insistently turned us away to some other, really shady hotel. We had no choice but to drive another few kilometres to that other hotel, only to find that it was a rundown room, with questionable hygiene and possibly even some bugs in the rooms. This was pure harrassment, even though our booking was prepaid and scheduled...

We got here accidentally after our booking in a different place got cancelled by mistake, and we loved every minute of it. It is located in a great area - just a 10 minutes walk from freedom square, yet a quiet place with hip restaurant and bars. The staff really helped us plan our visit in the city, gave us good tips, and when my friend was sick they made sure he will get the best treatment (sent him to the pharmacy with instructions, translated the pharmacist instructions and explained about each treatment).
