The air conditioning at the Makmani Hotel is broken. The AC units do not cool below 24 degrees celsius (75 fahrenheit) in the rooms and the lobby is a simmering 27 degrees celsius (80 F). The man working the night shift is entirely unprofessional and incompetent. He first turned up the temperature saying that would resolve it. When it didn't, he became very defensive and started blaming me by saying nobody else in the hotel had complained about this. He even brought a thermometer into the room and we saw the temperature did not drop below 24 degrees, which angered him even further. ||||The hotel has no staff on site to resolve maintenance issues. They also told me there are no emergency repair people available in Tbilisi so they could not fix the issue. They finally agreed to refund me in full and cancel my booking and I gladly moved out.||||However, this is where it gets really bad. As I was leaving, the man who I was dealing with earlier became extremely aggressive. He started shouting profanities at me, he told me to "get out faster" when in fact I was literally on my way out anyway, and when I told him his behavior was inappropriate he tried to physically assault me. Two other people intervened and stopped him or else he would have hit me. ||||I tried several times thereafter to speak to the management to report this uncouth man's behavior, but they have not returned any of my calls. This is an extremely unprofessionally run hotel and neither the management nor the staff seem to care about the guests nor do they know much about hospitality. ||||Don't stay here. There are several other hotels within 2 minutes walking distance that are more professional and cost around the same price...
Read moreWe initially booked five nights (in October 2023), and then prolonged our stay for another two nights, because we simply loved it there. The location is great, the house is just super nicely designed (especially the facade, the yard, the breakfast area and the oak wood staircase). All the (young) staff is professional and super friendly. Breakfast is great (I recommend you order some of the extras, like "Georgian breakfast" which are eggs in a coriander-almond-gravy) with a nice Georgian touch (like tklapi, local cheeses, and pastry (we liked the things with walnuts a lot). The owner is Georgian. Thus, the money you pay doesn't go into a foreign investor's pocket. We really loved the staff. We researched some activities online first and then asked the staff about their opinion, which helped us a lot. We also let them book cabs for us. All spoke pretty good English. Since it was already getting a bit chilly in early October, we couldn't sit in the nice yard. I think it deserves to be "populated". It was a bit sad to see it that empty. The same applies to the extraordinary basement with the old brick vaults, which is just used for breakfast. One should keep that open for customers in the evening (with live music). But it's true that there is a lot of competition in the neighborhood. We'll...

Service: The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect, always ready to assist with a smile.
Location: The hotel’s location was ideal—close to major attractions but still tucked away enough to provide peace and quiet. It made exploring the city very convenient.
Dining: The food at the hotel’s restaurant was top-notch. From breakfast to dinner, each meal was a delightful experience, with a good variety of local and international dishes.
