Solo lucky is housed in a residential building. The private room we stayed in was HUGE. It had even had a sitting room area with a couch and coffee table. In the opposite corner, there's a kettle and a fridge and a few utensils that you can use in case you bought prepared meals from the supermarket nearby. There's also a TV but I didn't find English channels. The room seems like the old living area of an apartment, and your own entrance is directly off the main street. You don't pass by a reception area before getting in, but the owner lives at the rear end of the hallway.||||There are a lot of stores within a short walking distance. The Tbilisi Funicular is just 20 minutes away, and I highly recommend you to visit for great views of the city. Freedom Square is just a 5-minute walk.||||In the morning, if you don't feel like strolling far for brekkie, there's a resto next-door where you can order a nice Georgian omelette. Staff barely speaks English though so you might need the help of the owner to translate for you. The resto is open until late at night/last customer, and because it's also a bar, there may be nights that you'll wake up to loud drunk arguments on the street. Rest assured it will be solved in a matter of minutes by police roving rather frequent.||||We were picked up from the airport by a taxi driver (as we requested) who later on took us to two sites outside of the capital. He barely spoke English but we got by. He quoted reasonable prices too. ||||We stayed for almost two weeks in Solo Lucky and because of this we got a good discounted price. Take note that accommodation in Tbilisi is expensive! The owners are very nice and did everything they could to help us with our...
Read moreThe location of Solo-Lucky is excellent, 5 minutes from Freedom Square in the old town. Many restaurants and bars around, a supermarket, and an easy walk to museums and other sights. The room I had was large, too large for the heater, and with a fridge and kettle in the corner was more like a bedsit than anything else. Old style throughout. Comfortable with private bathroom (no windows), though there are dorms as well and shared facilities available that are ok.||I was supposed to be met at the airport, but that did not work out very well. While staying at the hotel, other travellers turned up; lucky for them I was in as there was no staff to greet them and I had to call staff on my phone.||For the price, considering this is Georgia it is not too bad. Hotels are ridiculously expensive, so Solo-Lucky, if you want a cheap, medium comfortable room,...
