A beautiful hotel location but the interior set out is quite ordinary. For a 5 star hotel, the Marriott managed by Bonvoy was quite disappointing overall. There was not a lot of choices of restaurant, bars or facilities to really claim 5,star status… 1x restaurant, 1x bar, 1x lounge without cafe or bars. A small swimming pool and very basic equipment for a gym… not worth the prices that they charge. Especially for what you can get in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and many other countries I visited this year.
Although staff were very friendly and accommodating, the staff service on a level of quality and professionalism across the boarder was very poor and below international levels.
The breakfast provided was not of a 5 star hotel, it was very basic and tasteless, at best a 2-3 star and I’ve had great food in some of these hotels. It’s interesting because reading other reviews, this aspect is quite often mentioned as a low or point review and I would have thought, the Marriott would improve this area immediately.
What it needs is real good management, hands on leadership and a good management team behind such a hotel.
Needs really good F&B infrastructure, a international personal that can introduce proper international process or procedure, good communication with staff and appoint second-tier leadership from their F&B manager.
Staff are very amateurish (poor training) in their approach with service with a smile. Most are just watching or waiting for someone else of their colleagues to do their job for them. No team spirit or team unity in the service.
The set up of basic F&B procedures in setting tables and cleaning after clients is not difficult?
No clients wants to see pile up dishes and half eaten food in a corner, it should be removed immediately and out of sight..
Reception staff very helpful, always polite and informative.
The meet and greet is undesirable and very intimidating, the two gentlemen or Porters standing at the door entrance, look more like security guards at Diplomatic Building or doormen at a nightclub, or something from a KGB movie…
Interestingly ‘they don’t help you with your luggage or provide such a service, you have to carry your own baggage to your room. All muscle but no help or service.
These are just a few things I notice in my 3 nights stay there. The city Tbilisi its self is a vibrant, exciting and lively city. Definitely will be coming back to Tbilisi but not to the Courtyard Marriott… too bad because, they have a great location, a great looking hotel, just not a 5 star...
Read moreI'm writing this review to bring attention to an extremely disappointing experience I had with one of the staff members at Courtyard by Marriott Tbilisi Freedom Square — specifically Bachu, the gentleman stationed at the gate.
Upon arrival, I had four elderly people (all aged 60+) with me. While getting down from the cab, I asked Bachu if he could assist with the luggage, as I and the driver were already managing most of it. His response was, "We don't have bellboy service," followed by a smirk, after which he stood and watched as I dragged the suitcases up the stairs one by one, without offering a hand.
This behavior is completely unacceptable — especially from someone who represents the first point of contact for guests. I would like to escalate this to the hotel management, as staff members like this reflect poorly on the Marriott brand and should receive immediate attention or retraining.
In contrast, another gentleman on duty at the time of checkout kindly stepped in to help us without even being asked, a gesture that reflects the kind of service Marriott is known for.
To be fair, everyone except Bachu during our stay was warm, courteous, and professional. The hospitality from the rest of the team was truly commendable.
As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, I usually receive a feedback request after my stay. However, I did not receive one this time — which is why I’ve chosen to leave this feedback publicly here on Google.
I hope this reaches the attention of the management and that appropriate action is taken to ensure all guests are treated with dignity and respect from the very first moment...
Read moreAfter booking on agoda and spending 3 nights in this hotel our overall experience was most certainly not upto the mark with either.
Here's why:
Incorrect information: Agoda had a section on the booking page for smoking and non smoking rooms but the entire hotel itself is non smoking. That's major misinformation for any customer.
Incorrect information : We specifically paid extra on agoda for the freedom square view but the reception tells us that we've been "upgraded" to the same room. As if they've done us a favor?!
The hotel : Non existent bellboys: We had to request the reception to send someone to get our luggage to our room. This hotel only has doormen. No bellboys. I am 5 months pregnant yet no one offered to help with the luggage. So much for a 4 star property. Same thing happened during checkout.
Hotel Room: Windows can't be opened even a bit for fresh air to pass.
Bugs: I felt some itching during the night and the next morning my partner discovered a bug in the bed. I have a video and pictures to verify this. On complaining I was told the sheets would be changed. There was no apology or an offer to change the room. This isnt what one would expect from the Marriott chain. Cleanliness is the most basic feature in all hotel rooms.
Entertainment: The TV connection too was very weak and channels kept getting disconnected every 2-3 minutes. It's extremely irritating and difficult to watch anything in such a case.
This was long but factual. I hope someone on agoda and the marriott takes note of this and does something. I'm never ever booking with agoda or staying the...
