Mauritius Komfort Hotel in der Altstadt — Hotel in Cologne

The room was lovely, large size, and very clean, but the website isn't very accurate in regards to the breakfast times (online states 10am, staff on shift claimed till 9.30am only during the week. She did allow us to eat, though, so maybe just a translation issue on the website), or the option to extend to a late check out (online states for €15 can stay till 3 pm. Staff seemed confused about the option but did allow us to stay till 1pm free. Didn't tell the cleaning staff, so they knocked after I had just gotten out of the shower🤣) It's not a problem for us, but it's good to know for next time! Also no kettle for us English that love a cuppa 🤣

Staff were friendly enough as a whole. The male staff on New Year's eve was very friendly when we reported a broken light, as it couldn't be fixed on New Year's Day he allowed us 4 free drinks from the minibar as an apology.

Poor cleanliness of the room. There were dirty and unclean items in the room (broken and dusty fan, glasses with lipstick marks, dirty walls, shower with dust residue and dirt on the ceiling) sheets with stains.|The room has no air conditioning despite the high price paid (250€ per night).|My complaints were answered by the structure and booking to have free breakfast and to be able to take some drinks from the minibar, apart from that in a structure of this kind I refuse to have breakfast, but especially if I do not sleep at night because in the room there are 32-38 'that you can not keep the windows open because they protrude over the beds or enters the smog from the cars below, the noise and especially the light of the hotel sign that illuminates the room, how should improve my stay having free breakfast?|I was very disappointed and angry...

Decent 3-star hotel with clean rooms. We had a 3-person room which was spacious enough. Friendly staff. Biggest trump is the perfect location in the city centre. For us it was the perfect location to explore the various Cologne Christmas markets.||||Room itself was very warm, even though it was winter. Make sure to open the window(s) at night to avoid waking up due to it being too hot in the room (which happened to us). Pillows also not very comfortable.||||WiFi was only for 2 devices (unexplainable in these times when you book a room for 3 people, where everyone has more than 1 device).
