Came to ice cream united after a dinner out in Cologne. The man working was very nice and explained that he makes all of the ice cream in house with all natural and low sugar ingredients. The ice cream is churned right on the bench and it so fresh. The salted caramel ice cream was amazing a perfect mix between sweet and salty and not too rich. The peanut butter was amazing but not too strong. The chocolate was rich but very yummy and had small choc chips mixed through as well, what a treat!! Ice creams were VERY reasonably priced for a good amount and he threw in some water cookies for us as well! We really enjoyed coming here and highly recommend you do too! Love from the Aussies!!

When in Cologne visiting this ice salon is a must. The ice is super creamy compared to other ice salons. They have special flavours like coconut almond which are freshly made in front of you. Pistachio and coconut were extremely popular and it was very busy so we had to wait a few minutes. For such a popular shop to only accept cash payment is for me a big question mark… but I guess it’s a German thing as paying cash seems to be the norm everywhere. The good thing is, the employees do not touch the money as they have a cash machine which gives you back the change. I hope the next investment will be a pin machine. Fingers crossed.

Das Positive: der Laden sieht ganz nett aus, die Mitarbeiter sind nicht unfreundlich, die Portionen sind sehr gut (vor allem die Bambino Portion Spaghetti Eis ist groß genug), die Preise fair. Das Negative: wir haben zwei Becher bestellt. Einmal Krokant und einmal Spaghettieis. Das Spaghettieis hat leider echt nicht intensiv geschmeckt. Das ging soweit, dass es mir eigentlich egal war, ob ich das Eis esse oder nicht. Weder die Erdbeersauce noch das Vanilleeis war intensiv im Geschmack. Ich esse gerne Spaghettieis und mache es auch oft "selber" zuhause amateurhaft mit einer Presse. Dafür nehme ich Eis aus dem Supermarkt und selbst das billige Eis aus dem Lidl und die 2 Euro Sauce von Schwartau haben viel mehr Geschmack als das Eis hier. Das ist wirklich schade. Aber wenn es nur das Spaghettieis gewesen wäre hätte ich vielleicht 2 Sterne gegeben. Jetzt zum Krokantbecher: Denn der war leider total eklig. Das Eis hat nicht besonders gut geschmeckt aber am schlimmsten war das Krokant. Das war wirklich eine Zumutung und hat sehr chemisch geschmeckt. Klar, Eis ist ungesund und wenn man es sich mal gönnt, muss es natürlich halbwegs schmecken. Aber das war wirklich schlecht. Und ich habe wirklich versucht, es zu essen. Daher kann ich hier nur einen Stern geben auch wenn ich anfangs viel Positives sagen konnte. Denn am Ende zählt ja der Geschmack. Die Mitarbeiter haben auch direkt gefragt, was denn los war, weil wir quasi zwei fast volle Eisbecher weggeschmissen haben. Aber viel kann man da ja in dem Moment auch nicht machen. Ist natürlich nur meine Meinung, aber wiederkommen würde ich auf keinen Fall.

Sorry, I chose to have an ice-cream here but I can’t say that I enjoyed it. To be fair, my review is only based on the taste of one flavor and the consistency of the ice-cream, which appeared to be the same for all flavors.

I decided to have salted caramel. Never have I had anything with so much salt. It was super salty. There were caramel pieces inside. Well, I noticed them only twice and they were very tiny.

If you want to try the ice-cream, try another flavor.

The consistency of the ice-cream was like soft ice, ready to drip out of the cone all over you.

The reason for the two stars was the cone. That was really good.
