I'm giving this hotel 2 stars for one reason and one reason only. On our last night of our stay our room lost power around 10 pm. This had happened once previously and the front desk was able to open the fuse box and get the power back immediately. So I went downstairs to ask them to do it again, but this time the fix didn't work. There were no available rooms, so we had to stay in our room. The front desk staff was apologetic and got us battery powered lamps to use and said he would have a technician fix it in the morning. Luckily the AC still worked. We just went to bed and had to use our portable chargers. When we woke up at 8 am we still had no power. Not a big deal. But my issue was with management. When we checked out we let the morning front desk staff member know about our issue and asked if we could get a full or partial refund for the last night of our stay. He offered us a free breakfast, which we could not take as we had to get to the airport. He called his manager to ask about it. I want to make it clear all the front desk staff were so nice and amazing through this. My issue is that management said they needed to call him back with the answer. We waited 5-10 minutes with no response and then had to go catch our flight. He promised to send us an email with their response. Of course they decided to not refund us at all. Not even taking off what the free breakfast would have cost. I understand the front desk staff can't give us the refund, which is why I'm not mad at them. But we literally had no lights or way to charge our phone for an entire night and we weren't refunded a single cent for that night of our stay. And that is why I am giving them 2 stars. The location is great if you are using the train station a lot, the rooms are small but clean, and the staff is nice. But management is a real...
Read moreMy first time leaving the US and what a wonderful first experience in Munich. I came to Munich on business and my first experience with King’s started with me lost in the town center with a dead phone and no way to navigate back to my other room at the airport nearly 30 minutes away by train. I stumbled in to the hotel quite stressed and embarrassing asked if there were any possibility of a phone charger being available. Quan, one of the receptionists was gracious enough to allow me to stay as long as I needed to charge my phone on his personal charger even though I wasn’t a guest at the time. He even gave me a tour of the hotel grounds. After my business event concluded I stayed an extra week in Europe with multiple stays in Munich in between. Each time, three precisely, I booked with King’s. The customer service is peerless and the rooms were luxurious and at a very attractive price which is not so common these days. On my final stay at the hotel, Moritz was the receptionist at the time, eagerly providing me with a mouse for my laptop when I was experiencing difficulties using my trackpad. He was very enthusiastic, even very late at night. The whole check in and check out process was super streamlined and I enjoyed every night here. Positioned very conveniently across from two wonderful Italian restaurants, I felt at home. The only criticism I have is that there is not one closer to home! If you are looking to stay in Munich and need a place to stay, look no further! I can with confidence say King’s will not only meet, but exceed your expectations of what customer service truly is! Thank you, Quan, Moritz, and the rest of the King’s team for providing me with such a wonderfully...
Read moreThe hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. When we went, we paid almost 200eu per night for the room, as it was clearly a busy time. There seemed to be some sort of conference on. For this price, I do not recommend the hotel. For the price I see the rooms listed at currently (around 100eu per night) it is more reasonable. Our room type included a "king bed" but it was just two single mattresses stacked onto a double bed frame. Not comfortable for a couple to sleep in. We booked a premium room, but the room seemed small when comparing to the advertised pictures. I noticed in the pictures that the basic room type was exactly the same layout as our room, and we had paid for a more expensive room. We asked the front desk about it and they just stated that our room was definitely the correct type and the similarity to the basic room picture was merely a coincidence. The room looked much bigger in the advertised pictures than it actually was, either way. The housekeeping was ok. We stayed for 5 days and the sheets didn't seem to be changed at all, beds only made. Sometimes the mineral water in our fridge was not replenished. We ran out of shower gel and it was not replaced by the housekeeper so we asked the front desk to give us some more - we were told to go downstairs to an "amenity room" and get it ourselves. The breakfast was nice enough, a good variety of bread and cold cuts. Eggs every day and changing rotation of sausage types. Not much variety day to day (besides the sausages). It's a decent hotel, it's clean and the location is excellent. It's not a 200eu per night hotel - I'd expect a higher standard...
