This hotel was definitely worth a splurge. The staff was attentive and friendly and the views were phenomenal. The pool was amazing and offered a panoramic view of the island. Breakfast was high quality every morning.||The rooms, themselves, weren't majorly adorned, but that's not a requirement for me when I stay at a hotel. The rooms were clean and functional with a cute balcony. The bathrooms were clean. Everything worked well in the room.||The location of the hotel is subjective. If you want the party scene in Mykonos, this hotel is maybe not for you. If you want a quieter location, this was ideal. ||My one complaint - and this is not something the hotel has control over, so I didn't take away a star for this - is that to get anywhere from the hotel likely requires a vehicle. Mykonos is "walkable" in the sense that the island isn't big and many of the most popular things are clustered in Mykonos Town. That said, most of the streets on the island outside of Mykonos town are not pedestrian-friendly. If you walk, you will be sharing the road with ATVs, motorcycles, bikes, cars, vans, and buses. The hotel is located at the end of a winding street that has brick walls on either side. It's about a 10 minute walk to Mykonos town and/or the bus terminals, so we had to walk this road 2 - 4 times a day. I felt like I was taking my life in my hands every time because it's not just motorcycles and sedans passing by, but occasionally large vans that go faster than they should and leave inches to spare. In retrospect, we should have rented a car (which you can apparently do from the hotel), although our stay was a little too short for that and we didn't want to deal with the responsibility of...
Read moreGreat view, nice pool area. Good location. Small clean rooms. Average breakfast. I'd made an error booking one night too late on a non refundable booking, the communication was terrible for both the hotel and booking agent and caused a lot of stress because I was already on my holiday (on a broken ankle) with no idea of whether I'd have somewhere to stay once I got to the island, I sent a handful of emails, the last one shared my disappointment with the the lack of communication, all without response other than the initial one confirming my error, I finally heard back from the booking agent and they accepted the change of date and I was incredibly grateful for that. I heard back from the hotel the night before check in.... No apology for the late response. This is a family run business, everyone was lovely except for the owner, he picked us up from the ferry and we couldn't find him, once we did he was INCREDIBLY rude, trying to blame me for him not finding us (our first time on the Island) ...he went to the wrong ferry..... we got to the hotel for check in, he continued to be rude and made a point of 'putting me in my place' about the emails I had sent, both my friend and I were shocked at his lack of professionalism and empathy for my situation. Every interaction with him after that was tense, it definitely ruined...
Read moreWe Loved this wee hotel. Pros: Views from large balcony were magnificent. Room was a good size and was serviced every day. We requested extra pillows and within minutes they were delivered to our room. Pool area was beautiful. Pool area toilet facilities and shower were first class. Snack bar did, toasted sandwiches, pizza, omelettes, french fries etc. very pleasant lady did the cooking and serving. Breakfast was fine and included scrambled egg, bacon and boiled eggs. Only 10 minutes or so down the hill into town.|Cons: Bathroom was a tad small and floor flooded when having a shower. WiFi was poor. However neither of these put us off. What did turn out to be a problem for us was the walk back up the hill from the town. It’s a very narrow, busy road with no footpath so I would say quite dangerous at times. A fit enough or young person would have no bother walking up the hill but we ended up getting a taxi (15 euro for 3 minutes). My mobility is not always great whereas my husbands is fine (we are mid 70’s. ) We noticed one of the hotels on the road had a golf type buggy as a shuttle bus. This would be a great addition to the Georgina if they supplied something similar for their guests at specific times. In conclusion(hill aside) I would highly recommend this delightful hotel with its wonderful views which are...
