My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for one week. The website and the way they advertise the rooms does not reflect the reality of the hotel. The rooms are very small, the toilet is literally a small cabin and the view is not really what you would expect. We had a double room sea view but more than sea, I would say parking lot view! The service was nothing special, the housekeeper was the best. The room was always cleaned well and organized despite the mess. The waiters were rude, in particular the breakfast waiter. He kept taking our plates off while we were still eating and his attitude was really bad. His face was annoyed and looked miserable like he could not wait to get out. The other waiter was always sitting on a chair and did not even realize some stuff needed to be replaced. The Nutella was empty, yet no one checked and some kids and myself ended up not having it. The breakfast was average, same stuff every day and really small area, not open sided. Greek people including staff from the hotel were a bit rude, maybe it’s because their English was pretty limited or their attitude but we definitely had better experiences in other cities. A receptionist called our room about 3-4 times and when we answered no one answered. When he finally answered, he said he wanted to reach another room but then he chased us out while we were in our way to dinner. The best thing about this hotel was the location, 5 minutes to the city centre and really close to the bus stop. Definitely easy to have nice outings. But there is a very busy street. You will need to pass a very dangerous and chaotic street which is uphill and the cars are so close to you. It’s really dangerous, very slippery and cars/squads and buses go very fast without looking out for you. I would not recommend this hotel, its way overpriced and the service is not...
Read moreTop service! Where do I start? We spent 4 nights in Ilio Maris and had such a great time! The hotel is perfectly positioned one street over from Mykonos City (Chora) - 5 minutes walk and you are there. The position oh the hotel is also great for the view, you can see the entire city and the ports, and enjoy the sunsets from your balcony. The staff were amazing, Georgia and Dimitris specifically took care of everything we needed personally - food places, renting ATVs, places to see and go, everything. The rest of the staff were incredibly nice and attentive. Each day Georgia made sure all our needs were met, and share ideas of what to do on the island and even beyond (to neighboring islands). The breakfast is really good - eggs, ham, veggies, cheeses, bread, pastries, juices, coffee - everything you need. The room was good, with great view, and was cleaned everyday by the staff. The rooms has a small fridge but still quite big - we used it to put 5 1.5L bottles of water everyday (as water from the tap is undrinkable on the island). We were also given free water bottles upon our arrival. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel in our next...
Read moreWell kept boutique hotel which is 5 mins by cab form Mykonos airport. Thanks Christos for the warm welcome and giving us advice and tips of what to do around the island and how to access the beaches (bus routes etc).
Mind you the room rates are quite pricey as we have visited Mykonos during high season and we’ve booked last minute. I’m sure if your pre-plan ahead then you’ll get a good discounted rate, but overall Mykonos hotel prices are on the high end.
If you book directly through the hotel, then you get the airport shuttle transfers and amazing breakfast served daily from 8-11 included in the room prices. Variety of Greek and western choices and there’s plenty of food and variety; was very tasty!
Also as you can see in the photos below, amazing views of the pool area, the port and the neighbouring islands and is just felt like being on a proper vacation. All staff are helpful and welcoming and I will definitely stay next time at Ilyo Maris. Best choice! This hotel really puts you in vacation mood and you feel like you’re in paradise. Can’t wait to be...
