Poseidon Hotel Suites: The Perfect Blend of Location and Serenity Choosing the Poseidon Hotel Suites for our first trip to Mykonos was an excellent decision. It flawlessly met our three core requirements: a fantastic pool, a solid breakfast option, and unbeatable proximity to the Old Town. Ideal Location: Convenient Access, Zero Noise The hotel's location is arguably its greatest asset. We needed a spot close to the shopping and restaurants of Mykonos Town, yet distant enough to avoid the busy, noisy crowds—and Poseidon delivers. It sits in a uniquely sweet spot that requires no hiking up the surrounding hills. Crucially, we discovered a safe, scenic footpath along the water directly behind the hotel that leads straight to the port area. This was a massive plus, as it completely eliminates the need to navigate the often-hazardous, sidewalk-less main roads, making the walk into town a pleasant stroll, even during peak season. The Room & Unbeatable Views We were incredibly fortunate with our accommodation: a second-floor corner room offering truly spectacular, dual-aspect views. From our private balcony, we were treated to a sweeping panorama of the Aegean Sea, the harbor, and, on the other side, the iconic Mykonos Windmills. It’s easy to imagine this room is highly coveted during the high season, and we felt truly blessed to experience that view every morning. Breakfast and Amenities The complimentary breakfast was generous and satisfying. Beyond the standard offerings of bread, cereals, fresh fruit, and rich Greek yogurt, they provided a wonderful selection of savory options. We enjoyed local specialties like Mykonos sausages and warm savory pastries. Unlike some hotels, the hot food rotation was a bit limited, but the quality remained high. We highly recommend taking advantage of the in-room breakfast service at least once; enjoying coffee and Greek pastries on our sea-facing balcony was a perfect start to the day. The pool area is a lovely, clean space for cooling off, complete with a small bar that serves refreshing drinks. We also want to give special recognition to the entire staff, from the front desk to the breakfast team—they were consistently friendly, helpful, and contributed greatly to the relaxed atmosphere. We would absolutely recommend Poseidon Hotel Suites and would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to this...
Read moreLovely hotel, maybe freshly refurbished. Very clean and tidy, well kept. Staff were brilliant, pool bar guys, reception, housekeeping. Hotel contacted me before we arrived to arrange hotel shuttlebus pick-up at the airport – driver was great, waiting for us when we arrived, and dealt with the return trip efficiently as well. Hotel location was great, 2 miles from the airport, 50m from the start of Mykonos town/bus station/taxi rank. Breakfast Only – pool bar offered a reasonable selection of food, we did not see the hotel’s restaurant open during our stay, maybe there’s no demand. Breakfast offerings were the same each day, but all the bases were covered re Continental/cold meats/cheese, fruits, cooked, breads/toast, pastries. There were 12 trays of cooked food, 3 egg based, some vegetables, streaky bacon, chorizo sausage, beans, potatoes. I complained twice that the hot food was barely luke warm. Good sized suite, comfortable bed, bottled water provided, tea/coffee, mini-bar, restocked daily. Free safe in the room. Negatives: the front of our suite was facing the road outside, there was quite a lot of noise from people and traffic into the early hours. It’s a party town, you could hear pounding music into the early hours as well, but it wasn’t particularly intrusive. Also, a fair bit of noise from neighbours, scraping chairs across the solid floors, and footsteps. Lots of steps/stairs to get around the place, pool, pool bar, reception, breakfast room – not sure if there are any lifts, I didn’t see any. There are not enough sunbeds around the pool should the hotel be full; we were lucky as the place was barely half full. There was a good sized tv in the room, but only 2 English speaking channels, Sky News International and Al-Jazeera. My biggest gripe, the breakfast hot food that wasn’t. After raising the issue twice, the following day they had made a token effort to raise the temperature of the food island a couple of degrees, and warm the plates that was a slight improvement. The next day we had returned to ‘normal’, 58 degrees. I’m not sure this meets UK food standards, but we didn’t get food poisoning. Overall, these issues did not detract from the experience, great hotel, would stay there again, but I doubt we’ll be...
Read moreThis hotel is extremely well located right above Mykonos town, less than 5 minute walk into the center of town with access to all the shops, restaurants, and windmills.
They offer free airport and port transfer but you need to call or email in advance to set this up, otherwise you may be overcharged by taxis taking you to the hotel (which is what happened to us).
There is a large pool but when we came in late April but it was too cold to use and there is no hot tub, which was disappointing. The Deluxe room was well-appointed with amenities and has a paid mini bar, coffee area and free water bottles (the water on the island is non-potable). The bathroom comes with some nice products and a hair dryer. The whirlpool tub wasn’t working. The shower glass in the bathroom is very narrow and it’s easy to spill water while showering.
It’s a really quiet hotel at night though you can hear some noise from upstairs neighbors moving around. The room had a balcony overlooking the pool with a view of the port and windmills. It would have been nice if there were window screens so we could keep the doors and windows open without getting flies inside.
The hotel is beautifully designed in a typical Myconian minimalist style. The highlight of our stay (other than the excellent location) was the free breakfast. It was one of the best breakfasts we’ve had on the Islands, with multiple options of eggs, cheese, veggies, meats, classic Greek pastries and pies, traditional Greek coffee amongst standard continental offerings. Breakfast is also served until 11am which is nice if you want to sleep in.
Overall, the property is one of the generally affordable options in the area, with a great location and excellent amenities. I would definitely consider staying here again...
