We had a "loft" that involved a bit of stair climbing. The tiny elevator went only so far but it was worth it for the balcony view. It took some emailing back and forth with the manager to establish where and how to meet since there is no front desk but she was waiting for us and as promised, there was plenty of street parking. If you stay in the old town, parking could be problematic.. Very tiny kitchenette but possible to do a little cooking and the espresso machine with as many pods as you could want, was wonderful. Easy walk to charming old town, strolling the port at sunset and a fantastic walk if you start at the public beach and wind to the left around the coast. We wanted to stay in Nafplio for the access to Mycenae, etc but were unexpectedly delighted by the town itself. Only downside was the last day, all the water in that quarter shut off to so no showers and no toilet flushing. We hear that happens in that part of town often so you might want to fill a plastic garbage pail with water when you arrive. Read moreWe were a "walk in" with no reservation but bumped into the owner whilst looking up his phone number. He showed us two available rooms, one on the ground floor, larger than some but with no view and a little dark. The second room was on the first floor, slightly smaller (in fact, compact) but with all the necessaries for a two night stay and all "freebies" (juices, rusks, jams, etc.) were replenished every morning. It also had an adequate balcony with a medium-distant view of the Venetian fort. The owner was charming and provided us with a map with hand drawn routes to the places of interest and restaurant recommendations. Very happy...
