I stayed in the Elite hotel during September for a get away with my partner. |The room was okay, fairly small and the sink was in the main room so it was quite a tight fit, I did have to squeeze between the drawers at the base of the bed which I did end up scratching my leg on. |The bathroom wasn't the greatest, very tight and didn't have much room in there as the shower was surrounded by 2 shower curtains so they kept sticking to me also the metal rack that you put bottles on are was extremely rusty. Tv didn't have many channels other than BBC news which gets a bit boring considering I was there for 9 nights.|Rooms is decent if you're there for a short stay.||During my stay it didn't have my room cleaned everyday as it wasn't necessary, the time I did want it cleaned I made sure I left the hanger to notify the cleaners to service the room and for two days they ignored it as I remember specifically seeing the cleaners in the hallway as I was leaving my room. I brought it to attention at the reception and they informed me they would make sure they do it, in which it was done.|Before leaving my room I left a handbag on the side and I remember double checking as I could see money visible in my bag so I zipped up the side pocket then the main bag. When I came back to my room after going to the beach for a few hours I was preparing my bag for the evening and noticed the the 5 euros had gone? I don't like to accuse people of stealing but because I was 100% certain it was there before I left and considering its the only cash I had on me I noticed right away. I wasn't so bothered about the 5 euros it was the principle of the matter, I did not feel comfortable with a stranger snooping through my belongings it made me feel very uncomfortable. I did have a safe key for the safe in my room, I accidentally left that key in the pocket the money was zipped away in which made me panic thinking they have opened the safe and helped themselves. I understand that its down to me to lock my belongings away but its very small and cant fit everything in there but again no one should be going through my belongings its very invasive. I chose to no longer accept housekeeping as I didn't want them going in my room and touching anything else.|After that experience I will say I didn't feel very comfortable staying there.||I did raise this complaint to the receptionist, I ended up speaking with the manager a few days later who reimbursed the 5 euros and sent me a bottle of prosecco to my room which was a nice gesture but I don't think it was enough to make things right with me. Again I don't like to complain or leave bad reviews but I think this was pushing the boundaries a bit.||Please be aware of the...
Read moreOk hotel for the price, but keep your expectations realistic! For us the hotel was just a place to sleep and have our breakfast, and does not have anything additional to offer. If you're expecting a 5 star all inclusive hotel then keep on looking.
Very friendly staff, and they do their best to keep good care of the visitors and the hotel itself.
The rooms are separetly airconditioned and theres a fridge to keep some drinks/food cooled. The bathrooms are quite small, but they suffice for a few weeks. What i did not like is the lack of insulation of the room doors, so it might sound your neigbours are entering your room (this startled us a few times in the night/morning), and you will be waken up when the plates are being prepared for breakfast. In the rooms theres almost no storage space, but we just kept our stuff managed in the suitcases and provided wardrobe hangers. A second trash can would be nice, since the one in the bathroom will be filled with toilet paper that you're not supposed to flush.
The beach is maybe a 100m walk from the hotel (go to the east side, west is windy!). Best place is to sit at the the back garden of the casino. To be allowed to stay there you need to spend min 5 euros per person on food/drinks during the day, but on the beach you pay (at least) the same just to have a sunbed. At the pool, the 5 euros gives you a sunbed for the day, swimming pool, relaxing music, bar and clean toilets/shower area.
The new and old city and harbor area are all within walking distance which gives you plenty of possibilities to eat/drink. Theres a number of places that offer a pita gyros and a drink for 3 euros which is perfect for a quick lunch. We realy enjoyed our dinner at Ronda at elli beach, where you will be served as a millionaire and there are dinner posssibilies for every budget.
I can realy advise to rent a scooter. We payed 15 euros for a day and 10 euros for fuel, and you can go where you want when you want. Public transport is also OK, but you spend around 10 euros to travel to faliraki and back...
