Our first visit was an excellent experience – the steak was tender and tasty, the pepper sauce was perfect and the service was friendly. The place was very clean and pleasant, and I had the best meal of my entire trip here.
On our second visit, the food was again delicious, but the service was confusing. There was a bit of a mix-up with our drinks, which was quickly rectified. When we asked to change the veggie burger to halloumi, the waiter said it was possible, but at first we only got a plate of halloumi. After clarification, we got the burger, but the fries were missing. After that, the attitude of the staff changed significantly. From then on, no one seemed to want to serve us. We waited a long time for the dessert menu and even longer after that, finally asking for the bill because no one took our dessert order. If it weren't for the unwillingness of the servers to serve, I would have easily given the review 5 stars.
Overall: the food was excellent both times, but the quality of service...
Read moreI never dine in the same restaurant twice when I am away, Red is the exception, what a wonderful place to dine. 1. Staff. Brilliant, friendly, efficient and attentive. Food. The little complimentary soup of the day is a great start. I had greek meatballs in a beautiful tomato sauce as my starter, so nice, steak for my mains in a pepper sauce, like cutting butter with a hot knife, I wanted to ask for bread to wipe up the sauce left on my plate. Now for the best part, the OMG mash potato, it should be a mains on the menu, I would eat it every day. We were a party of six, six starters, 6 mains all but 1 was steak the other was lamb shank, 1 bottle of wine, 3 btls of cider, total 207 Euro amazing value for the quality of food and service. My final mention is for the Gentleman I presume is the owner, such a nice man, if u go to Rhodes please please eat in Reds, you will not regret it, I wish I had of found it earlier in my stay. To our surprise, we found a fruit fly in the arugula on our plate. It’s not just the presence of the fly that disappointed us, but the implication that there may be issues with food storage or handling. This either suggests nearby rotting fruit attracting these flies or a delay in disposing of kitchen waste.
On a positive note, the Seabass fillet dish was delicious, and the accompanying vegetables were excellent. However, the Greek salad was disappointing due to the bitter taste of the onions.
I hope this feedback helps Red Restaurant improve the overall...
