We stayed at Alexander Suites with seven guests occupying three rooms. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected several serious issues during our stay significantly affected our comfort, safety, and overall satisfaction.
Non-Functional Jacuzzi: One of the main reasons we chose this property was the “Private” jacuzzi advertised with our room. However, the jacuzzi stopped working on the first day of our stay and remained out of order for the entire three-night reservation. Despite informing the staff, no effort was made to replace this key amenity.
Electrical Hazard – Guest Electrocuted: Even more concerning was a serious safety issue involving one of the decorative lamps in the room. The cord was poorly held together with electrical tape, and the lamp shorted out, causing one of our guests to be electrocuted and the fuse to trip. When we reported the incident, the response from staff was shockingly dismissive—we were merely told to flip the switch back on, and although we were promised someone would check it the next day, no one ever followed up. No medical assistance was offered, and the issue was never properly addressed. We found this not only unacceptable but extremely negligent.
Lack of PRIVATE Hot Tub Access Control: Another disappointing aspect was the lack of access control to our unit’s private hot tub. Other guests, whose rooms did not include hot tub access, were able to use it freely, raising concerns about privacy and fairness.
We were advised by the on-site manager to formally report these issues, which we have done, but we left without any resolution or meaningful response. Given the cost of the stay and the serious nature of these problems—particularly the safety risks—we cannot recommend this property.
Despite numerous attempts to contact the hotel directly, Alexander Suites repeatedly redirected us to Expedia and refused to take any responsibility for the situation. They declined to offer any compensation or refund for the jacuzzi — a premium amenity we paid extra for — which remained non-functional for the entire stay. This lack of accountability was completely unacceptable. Avoid this hotel if you have any other choice — it’s not worth the risk.
Just to clarify, what I said was: "I will not be recommending your hotel to anyone traveling to Santorini, and I hope future guests don’t go through the same experience," — not that I initially intended to write a negative review. I chose to do so because of the lack of support we received during our stay. My only intention is to help ensure that future guests don’t encounter the same issues we did.
Additionally, as mentioned, the private hot tubs were indeed used by other guests during our stay.
Thank you nonetheless for an okay stay on the beautiful island...

Read moreWe spent two wonderful nights at the Alexander’s Suites in December, during the low season. This means lots of restaurants and shops were closed. ||In turn the whole area was so quiet and peaceful. Having said that I’d noticed that lots of constructions and renovations were happening at this time.||We drove our rental car from Santorini Airport to the hotel and parked our car about 500+ metres away. We had a hot tub just outside our room but the temperature of the water was too high for a comfortable dip.||There is a shared terrace area between all the suites. Breakfasts are served at the terrace (when it’s not too windy). We enjoyed relaxing breakfasts listening to the calming sound of the wave.
