It's like stepping into a postcard. Located below the main walkway in Fira, we missed the entrance at first - Fira is hard to navigate on GPS. Inside, the hotel is a maze ... we still sometimes took the wrong way after 3 days. But facilities, view, quality, peace, cleaning and staff are all top notch.|If something is off, it's fixed immediately. Our wifi was down at one point, and the fix-it-guy arrived back at the room before I did. Reception is also super friendly and have many connections in town for discounts / better tables / etc. and many travel tips as well.||It has a kitchen for good and varied breakfast and simple meals, and a well stocked bar ... Christos the Bartender (one of many staff highlights) make solid drinks and good honest conversation.||Cell phone coverage is low at the hotel due to the location below the main street and inside the caldera itself - but wifi is fine. And the location means you rarely hear the town, even though it's a few stairs away (Fira has many stairs, you'll come home with good legs). Cruise ships are heard with their shipwide speaker announcements, but not on an annoying level. And if it's windy, some of the balconys have noisy sunshades.||But the style, the cleanling standard, the location, the staff and the view means we're definately...
Read morebeautiful hotel. It is essentially a series of small buildings that cascade down the cliff of the caldera. Our room was at the bottom (5 floors down) and was a 2 level suite. The upstairs level had a gorgeous arch window that looked out into the caldera, and the downstairs level had a balcony with a table and chairs. The downstairs is a living room with the option of 2 trundle beds, so the suite could accommodate 4 persons, in our case it was us and our teenage son. Our room opened out into a lobby/anteroom which was very cool (temperature and design). the pool/bar was just one flight of stairs above us. It can be a climb to the top of the hotel (which is at street level), but the staff do all the heavy baggage lifting. The pool and breakfast area were lovely, spectacular views. Once at the top of the hotel you are surrounded by restaurants and taverna's and only a very pleasant and scenic 5-10 minute walk to downtown Fira. We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were delightful, and there is a luggage room where you can store luggage if you have an 11am check out but a 3-4 pm departure to the airport or port, so no lugging cases around Fira on...
Read moreThis hotel is amazing! The views are stunning, the room was clean and the pool is great too. It's in an ideal location. You're a 15min costal walk from Fira and a 25min walk from the best sunset spot on the Island (Not Oia). There are a few restaurants near the hotel too if you wanted to stay local.
The reception staff were great. They helped us decide where to go and they arranged a car rental for us to explore the island too.
There are only two tiny things that I wasn't a fan of. The breakfast was average and the staff in the pool area didn't seem to work to the same high standard as the reception staff.
The biggest tip I'd give to anyone thinking of booking this hotel is to check what room you're being assigned to before arriving. We were first placed in a room next to the hotel reception and the balcony wasn't private. After one disturbed nights sleep, we asked to move. Our second room (same price) was 10x better with a garden terrace. It was by far the best hotel room I've stayed in. If I was guaranteed that room every time, I'd always stay at this hotel when...
