Sweet pop — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

My partner and me needed a hotel just for one night in Saturday. The next day we would go to an other island by seajet. We had a look on booking com and noticed the offers of the hotel. We went straight to the hotel to see what would be the best option/ room for us. There were a few offers on booking com with special price we had "genius status". We showed the lady on the reception the offers listed. She immediately phoned the manager of the hotel, then she had a communication via whats app. After that (2 minutes later) all the rooms of the hotels where suddenly booked, only a pricy suite was left! It's like the manager had canceled the cheap offers after the call. We had to pay 180€ for a suite, the cheaper ones were not avaible any more! The hotel was empty that day..all very strange. The suite was not a suite like the receptionist had promised, it was a little simple room! We were tired from the flight otherwise we would have left the place immediately. The next day we asked the receptionist for the receipt. The receptionist called the manager again and then told us, that we should leave our e mail adress so they would send us the receipt the same day. It did not happen as we had expected. Stay away from this "hotel" and these people. It's a scam! We would have given a negative review on booking com,but because we have paid in cash with no receipt, booking com did not register us as guests. It's like we have...

1-2 minute walk from everything in Fira without being surrounded by the hustle and bustle.

Super quiet, modernized and clean room and bathroom, friendly and helpful owner and receptionist and little pool that gets sun morning to mid-afternoon. We had one of the "underground" cheaper rooms that had a window towards the top. It didn't feel like we were underground at all, despite not having a view of anything. The bed was comfortable, wifi worked perfectly, bathroom was large and modern with a square bathtub large enough to fit two people in, had air conditioning. Very quiet.

They let us store our backpacks and swim in the pool a few hours before check-in and also afterwards. When we were searching for a good car rental company, the receptionist made a phone call on our behalf (in Greek) to ask about prices and availability, and Sweet Pop has discounts with some of the car rental companies. I needed a needle and thread, and Popi lent me her sewing kit. We also wanted to extend our stay for another night, and they were able to arrange for us to stay in the same room for the same price.
