We spent three nights in Room 4 and one night in Room 6 during our stay. The hotel is located right on a busy corner across from a park and a church, but the interior rooms are super quiet. The courtyard is so beautiful, filled with flowering plants, trees, vines, a fountain, and lots of comfortable seating. Birds, including mourning doves, sparrows, and orioles call this place home. We spent many hours chilling there. Breakfast was delicious. Three mornings we had eggs, black beans, salsa, and fried plantains accompanied by bread and coffee/tea and one morning pancakes, fruit spread, and fresh fruit. Service was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. It was quiet during our stay, with only one or two other rooms occupied, so I can't attest to the sound during busy times. WiFi was very good in the courtyard, but a bit spotty in the rooms. Water pressure in Room 4 was quite low, but very good in Room 6. And Room 6 has more natural light via a stained glass window facing the courtyard and a skylight. The courtyard has steps and Room 4 has a step up into the sink and toilet area, so not good for those with mobility issues. Overall a very good value for the money and a super...
Read moreI think I stayed in the very room shown in the photo above. This place is really nice, even by Guatemalan standards. I have traveled extensively in Latin America and can say with confidence that this is one of the nicer accommodations in Antigua. It is gated from the street, which is typical, and adds to a sense of privacy as well as security. The staff was very kind, and although not English-speaking, none the less pleasant and helpful. The hotel is immaculate and the courtyard is somewhere I could imagine sitting for hours. It was just lovely and filled with trees, flowering plants, birds, and a fountain. The breakfast was decent; I won't complain because it was included and food is not exactly cheap in a touristy area such as this. Very convenient location and lovely, tasteful rooms. A group of us stayed there, so I saw all six of our nice rooms. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Nice towels and linens. I would caution you to bring ear plugs, for if your room is located by the street, it could get noisy at night. Highly...
Read moreI've recently stayed here with my family. We were charged for bottle waters that were never placed in our rooms even after we told them there were no water bottles. Room #4 had no running water; therefore, we could not use the bathroom or take a shower - we were not warned of this issue, neither we were given a discount (when we arrived we did hear the prior guest staying in room 4 that there was no running water, but thought the problem was solved). One of the rooms which holds about 9 people does not have a bathroom or tv. We were charged for two family members who weren't there because we included them when we call for reservations. Continental breakfast consisted of a couple of pieces of fruit and coffee ONLY. The dollar exchange...
