We stayed for 6 nights in August at the end of a 4 city European tour. The hotel occupies a glorious building and the common areas are a delight for the eyes. The restaurant and bar staff were unbelievably good. Warm, welcoming, friendly and great memories for remembering our preferences. The restaurant was extremely good. The food was excellent and the decor and ambience were nice (except for one night with a screaming baby in the room). Andrea, one of the hostesses at the restaurant, was incredibly helpful and actually wrote down a list of suggestions of places we might enjoy visiting during our stay. Gabor, the sommelier, was excellent, as were the waiters Mario and Levi (among others). Daniel, the restaurant manager, was extremely helpful as well as Anna on the concierge staff. So, why a 3 star review and not a 5 star? Front desk and hotel management issues. First, we were NOT informed when booking our room overlooking the Danube and the chain bridge, that this was all under construction. I would not have paid the extra for this view had I known this. Second, we were told when booking that our booking entitled us to a room upgrade upon arrival. I was even sent a letter signed by the front desk manager confirming this as part of our reservation. However, when we arrived, the guy at the front desk told me that this was not applicable to us because the only higher room as a specialty suite. I was tired and couldn't put my hands on the letter right away, so gave up the argument and took the room given. However, after looking at the hotel's very own website, there are rooms above our level that are NOT classed as specialty suites, and if that was the case, then why issue a letter telling me that we were entitled to the upgrade (subject of course to availability). This issue continues to irritate me even after leaving the hotel. Third, the morning of our very early scheduled departure, my requested wake up call did not come. Luckily, I had woken up on my own and was getting ready. When I reached the front desk, I enquired about the non-existent wake up call and the front desk clerk simply said he had forgotten, sorry about that. Extremely unconcerned. We're talking about needing to make a 7am flight, so "sorry" doesn't really cut it especially when it doesn't sound like it is really meant. Also, the day before our departure, the general manager sent a letter to every hotel guest informing them of city-wide activities that would be occurring the following day that might cause disruptions. Sadly, he completely mis-stated the day and date (i.e., should have been Saturday, August 14, but was written as Saturday, August 13. This shows (to me anyway) a lack of attention to detail at the top. My advice, don't make promises you can't or won't, keep. I do plan to return to Budapest, however I seriously doubt whether or not I will return to the Four Seasons for hotel accommodation. I will, however, go back to their restaurant and bar as the staff there seem to know...

Staying at the Four Seasons Budapest during the holiday season with my mom was nothing short of magical; the hotel exceeded even the lofty expectations one might have for a Four Seasons property. From the moment we arrived, the staff was mind-blowingly helpful and friendly, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience.
The concierge desk was instrumental in planning our daily adventures in Budapest, providing personalized recommendations that made our stay even more special. The front desk staff were out of this world - both incredibly friendly and highly professional, ensuring every request was met with enthusiasm and efficiency.
The lobby, transformed into a winter wonderland for Christmas, was breathtaking. I could have easily spent hours just soaking in the festive ambience. I was so taken by the decorations that I purchased a beautiful peacock paper ornament from their seasonal Christmas tree, which now adorns my home.
The Art Deco theme of the hotel is stunning, with every detail exuding elegance. Our room was spotless, and the room service was top-notch, catering to our every need. I indulged in the spa, where I had the best pedicure of my life, highlighting the exceptional quality of their services.
On our first day, we enjoyed a dine-in breakfast which was truly exceptional. I've attached photos to my review, and I can assure you, the experience was definitely worth it. The variety and quality of the food, along with the elegant setting, made for a perfect start to our day.
A delightful surprise was the complimentary spa bags provided by the hotel, which were perfect for enjoying one of the many lovely spas Budapest has to offer. They included everything you needed in a nice leather bag.
The pool, along with the sauna and steam room, provided a serene retreat that perfectly complemented the hotel's luxurious amenities. The location couldn't be more ideal, right by the Chain Bridge, which looks absolutely beautiful at night, adding to the charm of our stay.
A special mention goes to the thoughtful gesture of providing us with a breakfast to go for our early flight, making our departure just as memorable as our arrival.
I can't say enough nice things about this place. The Four Seasons Budapest truly made our holiday experience amazing, and I am already looking forward to returning. It's not just a hotel; it's an experience, one that I would highly recommend to anyone...
Read moreTimeless elegance meets exceptional Four Seasons service in a historic grand hotel setting
The hotel is beautifully located on the banks of the Danube, offering stunning views of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Housed in a historic building, the infrastructure, rooms, windows, and elevators reflect a classic style rather than a modern one. This gives the hotel a sense of old-world charm that fits perfectly with the character of Budapest. Naturally, this also means that some in-room features found in more modern Four Seasons properties – such as digital light controls, electronic shutters, or a 'do not disturb' button – are not present here. It feels more like a traditional grand hotel in that sense. That said, all services are delivered promptly, personally, and to a high standard. Room service in particular was impressively fast. The selection of bath amenities in the room is relatively limited, but the range of products available in the Spa is extensive. The Spa and fitness areas are more modern in design, although the steep ladder access to the whirlpool may not be suitable for all guests, and the poolside flooring can be quite slippery. The Concierge has a large, elegant space of their own – in line with the classic feel of the building. There isn’t much artwork throughout the hotel, but the building itself, with its soaring ceilings and grand windows, provides its own architectural beauty. The bar serves excellent cocktails, and the Club Sandwich is truly outstanding. The hotel also offers underground parking. One area for improvement would be the sound insulation of the windows – on weekends, music from nearby nightclubs can unfortunately be heard quite clearly. Breakfast features a well-curated à la carte menu, although the buffet selection is...
